Bio

Believe your ears! Alternative Indie Pop, Rock and Blues from the singer with 1000 voices, 1 RADIO PHIL aka Phil Townley. From his most recent "Party Platter" CD album: "The Password" is pop top ten listed in Australia. "Oh Me" (track 4) will be in the film comedy "American Shopper," and "Rocky Mountain Railroad" (track 12) is a VH1 Song of the Year finalist. 1 Radio Phil's "Party Platter" CD was recently featured including a live (by phone) interview on Linda Serck's FM show in Berkshire (near London). "Party Platter" is also on the air in Japan, Africa, Russia, Canada, Europe and the U.S. CD albums, sources, and lyrics are listed below.
Phil fronted vocals and keyboards in more than 500 gigs in the northeast. Too many gigs involved hauling heavy gear up icy steps in the snow before Phil moved to coastal Florida in 2001 (kind of a no-brainer, huh? - bodysurfing instead of plowing and shoveling). So the transatlantic sailor traded in his snow shovel and plow for a plastic beach shovel, new keyboards and computer, and is now recording his second hundred originals. He claims that some of the songs sound even better than a snow shovel. Music industry analysts have heaped praise on Phil's guitar player, Phil. Try "Big Guy" and "Over the Sky." 1 Radio Phil's backup singers, Clorine and Citrenella (he keeps them locked in a keyboard), can't wait to sing for you.
Phil attended the University of Maine Music Division. He has also live-mixed concerts for hundreds of national acts, including Leslie West and Mountain, Reba McIntire, B.B. King, Johnny Paycheck, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bill Monroe, Alison Krauss, and Chubby Checker.
Now, how 'bout a little hot alt indie pop from Phil's newest CD album "Party Platter" ( http://www.cdbaby.com/townley2 ), ranging from classic and tavern rock to alternative indie pop? Try "Big Guy", "The Password", "One Left Shoe", "I See You Too", "To Find You", "Dance Right Now", and "Knock Knock" (the song that still doesn't really answer the time old question). Do you groove on the blues? Try Phil's "Oh Me" (do you hear the Newark NJ radio gospel music influences here?), "Bad Man" (true story about a really nice friend), or "Beautiful Day" (ever hear blues not moaning about a really great day?). Like instrumental rock? Try "Over the Sky" inspired by Jimi Hendrix, or "Rocky Mountain Railroad", Phil's VH1 Song of the Year finalist. http://www.cdbaby.com/townley listed below also offers Phil's previous instrumental album "Gulfstream Gondolier," featuring a worldly upbeat selection of often tropical based rhythms and tunes.
You'll hear influences from Africa, Newark NJ radio gospel music, Leslie West, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Walsh, Bob Marley, and many others. Fire up that sub woofer, twist the tweeter, and crank it baby! Catch the humor. Keep careful track of your fingers and toes while dancing. Have fun, and . . . Believe your ears!

LYRICS for the Party Platter CD album:
1) BIG GUY

Here comes the big guy.
Ladies sigh when he goes by.
Here comes the big guy.
Big guy, big as the sky.

Here comes the big guy.
Nothin' small when it comes to his size.
Here comes the big guy.
Big guy takes up both of your eyes.

2) THE PASSWORD

Tell me, tell me, if you're a fan.
Tell me, tell me if you can.
What's the password? What's the password?

Lemme lemme, lemme think.
I think I've got the link.
To the Password. To the Password.

Cahba gooma glamma cahba yabba yay.
Cahba gooma glamma glahba yabba yay.
Is that the password? Is that the password?

That's pretty, pretty pretty good
And you almost, almost almost could.
What's the password? But what's the password?

Lemme lemme, lemme lemme think;
I think I think I think I've got the link.
To the Password. To the Password.

Cahma cahma gooba gooba yahbba yay.
Cahma cahma gooba gooba yahbba yay.
Is that the password? Is that the password?

That's very, very very good.
You remembered everything you should.
You know the the password. You know the the password.

Lemme think, lemme think. We know we've got the link.
Lemme think, lemme think. We know we've got the link.
To the Password. To the Password.

Cahma cahma gooba gooba yahbba yay.
Cahma cahma gooba gooba yahbba yay.
That is the password. We've got the password.

3) KNOCK KNOCK

Knock knock.
I said knock knock.
Knock knock.
Knock knock,
at your door.
I've been here before.
Knock knock.
You're here.
Knock knock.
Knock Knock.
I'm here.
Knock knock.
Knock knock.

4) OH ME

Oh Me, What am I gonna do?
Oh Me, What am I gonna do?

Here I stand
Rollin' my eyes
And wringin' my little hands.

Oh Me

5) ONE LEFT SHOE

I'm a little bit bright.
It's a statement of fact.
I think I've seen the light.
And there's nothing that I lack.

I've got one left shoe,
The other one is right.
I think I've got a clue.
I can dance all night.
I don't know too much.
Some 'rithm
