A NEW SOUND IN A WORLD OF REDUNDENCY…
Immediately after touring across Canada in 2006, including performances at Edgefest & sharing stages with Finger Eleven, Thornley, Faber Drive, Marianna’s Trench, Idle Sons, Scratching Post, Swollen Members, Rascals, Clarknova; Toy Box rolled into Voodoo Records Recording Studios to create a full length masterpiece.
After signing with Voodoo Records, just over a year ago, Toy Box has exceeded all industry standards, with an obsessive commitment to quality song writing and pristine musical performances.
Their onstage energy is immediately addictive to anyone who has had the opportunity to catch a live performance. Likewise, this energy and massive sound has been captured in their debut album “The Assassination Of…” released Nov. 27 2007 in HMV’s across Canada.
Beautifully crafted poetic lyrics, razor sharp guitar riffs, groovy bass lines and beefy drum beats that would make John Bonham proud. This has been contrasted with string and piano arrangements delicately placed throughout to form a dramatic backdrop for the intensely melodic vocals.
As passionate as Toy Box is about the music they still remain very down to earth, real and approachable, constantly making friends and fans all along the way during their 2007 tours throughout Canada. Looking to continue this mentality Toy Box plans to tour around both Canada and the U.S.A. in the near future.
