Bio

In November of 2011, A group of friends, all from a list of old bands and creative backgrounds joined forces in hopes for the excitement of music to put them in their place again. After months of plugging away, writing, re-writing, saving neighbors dogs, sitting on rooftops, and writing some more, the boys began to shed light on stages all over Austin, Tx. Sharing bills with bands such as Boyfrndz, Equals,Little Radar and Look Mexico. After a short run of about 15 sweaty shows, a 5 song Ep recorded at Cacophony Studio, as well as a growing buzz based around their honest and passionate delivery, the band was forced to come to a halt when a few members moved out of Texas. After a 6 month absence, Justin (guitar/vocals) decided to rejoin forces with former Strangers bandmate, Brock (drums) to get Toy Ghost back on it's feet. They played a few shows as a 2 piece until both realizing there was something missing. Not long after, Justin met Matt (guitar) at a soul-sucking restaurant job where they immediately bonded over the lack of sanity they endured together while at work. Matt moved down from Philadelphia with long time friend/bandmate Alex (keys/ key bass) for a change of scenery. After a few jams at their house, the new crew of 4 reworked versions of the songs from the previous Ep and started playing around again. The new lineup has only grown since then, evolving into an almost, entirely new band altogether. With an endless array of influences under their belts, such as the appleseed cast, sunny day real estate, godspeed, the refused, at the drive in, wilco, colour revolt, sufjan stevens, braid, hot snakes, okkervil river, la dispute, and the getupkids to name a few, these guys have quite the diverse sound that is proving to keep them on their toes. WIth a few new songs to be released in the coming month, there appears to be no end in sight. Keep your eyes and ears open and they will do the same.
