Bio

Having already earned acclaim for her spirited solo career, Alana Grace has taken a remarkable turn with her extraordinary new band, TOY. Inspired by such artists as the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, Deadmau5, Rihanna, and MuteMath, the Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, musician, and performer set out to forge an altogether different sonic path, fusing dynamic hard rock with an electronic edge. The result is inventive and adventurous modern music, where synths swirl around supercharged riffs and soaring melodies, all defined by Grace’s distinctive vocals and flair for intimate, intense song-craft. With their swelling pulse-beats, intricately crafted arrangements, and powerhouse hooks, TOY sees Grace taking charge to create the most electrifying music of her life.

Knowing that she needed the right group of musicians to fulfill her vision of TOY, Grace reached out to Spencer Bastian (guitar), Christian Meadows (guitar), and Ryan Folden (drums), all of the Los Angeles-based band, After Midnight Project. Grace and the three musicians had bonded during Warped, united by their mutual interest in pursuing a more electro-based rock sound. As such, she saw in them the perfect foils for TOY’s creative quest.

An exceptional musician and songwriter in her own right, Grace thrives on artistic collaboration. She composed TOY’s tracks by partnering with a number of talented tunesmiths, including Bastian, Benjamin Holman Richards (of acclaimed Australian band Porcelain), and veteran songwriters Richard Harris, and Blair Daly (known for such hits as Rascal Flatts’ #1 blockbuster, “Stand”).

TOY is now poised to unveil their aggressive and exhilarating live show by supporting Panic! At The Disco and Neon Trees at Milwaukee’s annual Summerfest, followed by a major summer tour. Imbued with inspired energy and musical muscle, TOY sees Grace and her cohorts following their muse to craft something truly heartfelt and transformative.
