Traces of Reason

Traces of Reason was formed in March 2004 in Concord, CA. Jamming non-stop in the course of these years T.O.R has created a very unique and intricate style that fits a wide variety of music ranging from alternative rock, hard rock, punk, classic and experimental rock. Their music has no boundaries and their versatility is endless that can touch almost any music lover. The hooks are non-stop and their music writing is extremely genuine and powerful. Writing music since the early nineties, around the age of 12 -Justin, (vocals/guitar) has gained a passion for playing music. Growing up he’s had all kinds of influences from classic rock and blues (the Beatles, Zeppelin, etc) to the Nirvana era, and today (Chili Peppers, DMB, Muse, Tool...etc) Without an instructor he developed his own style of playing the guitar, and continues to write truly soulful and heartfelt music. His only desire is to let his music spread among us all. Travis, (bass) started playing the guitar in his garage around 13, mostly punk orientated stuff (NOFX, Pennywise...etc). He improved his skills in the bass and his mixture of guitar and bass brings a new sound. He played in The Lozers and S.T.R (Concord PUNK) before joining T.O.R. in 2005. He stepped in after T.O.R lost their bass player (Steve D. from 5DD) and is a nice fit. Jim Briggs (lead guitarist) joined the band sometime in late 06' and has added a great feel to their already powerful writing tecniques. Jim is currently a music teacher on guitar but has taught other instuments as well including drum core. Jim's main influence was jazz oriented but since he has joined T.O.R his aspiration for music has expanded greatly. Last but not least Chuck, (drums) didn't play any kind of instrument until T.O.R was formed. Since then Chuck has created a style of his own based around the playing field Justin has laid out for him. It was a battle well won to hang with Justin's unique style. Today they form a band by the likes of which have never been seen.....and they call themselves TRACES OF REASON.
