Biography

Traciana Graves is a very intoxicating young woman. Born in Harlem, U.S.A. she was largely raised in France when the career of her model mother took the family abroad. It is in France where Traciana became immersed in the arts and music. She taught herself to become a guitarist, studied at the Sorbonne, and became the first American accepted into the prestigious National Acting Conservatory in France. This foundation lead her to become a sought after background singer for the likes of Celine Dion, Steel Pulse, Youssou N'dour, Andrew Lloyd Webber and others.

Tales of a Prodigal Daughter is a true reflection on the essence of a bracing singer/songwriter Traciana Graves. Acclaimed Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid took an interest in Traciana's unique musical viewpoint and among other things introduced her to producer V.Jeffrey Smith of the Family Stand (Des ree, Paula Abdul, Heather Headley). Together Smith and Traciana crafted an album (based in the alternative soulful pop akin to artists like India Aerie, Seal, Les Nubians) that is a montage of what the world has seen from many places. This musical bed provides the perfect vehicle for Tracian to express herself which she does in her first nature of languages of English, French, Spanish, Swahili and Portuguese. They say that true art should take you to another place. An enjoyable and compelling album stirs repeated listening. Tales of a Prodigal Daughter by Traciana Graves is true Art and will repeatedly do all of the above

Lyrics

Si Bon

Written By: Traciana Graves

When I was a child I felt so free.
I could catch any dream
with the tips of my wings.
But Harlem flowers that bloom
unseen and unheard are cut too soon
before they now their worth.

Guess it had to happen to me.
So I could learn to break free

C'est si bon
C'est si bon
I can feel I can feel I can feel the sublime.
Rising up in me and I'm ready to shine.

It took a while for me to see and many
journeys before I believed.
Don't need a kingdom or a king
to make know that I was born a queen.

Now I see
my majesty's up to me.

C'est Si Bon
C'est Si Bon
I can feel I can feel I can feel
the sublime
risiing up in me and I'm ready to shine.

Its alright, everything comes in time.
Maybe not the way we plan
but greater than we can understand.

Dessus les rue de mon quariter, les fleurs
d'Harlem se poussent vers
l'ensoiliee.

C'est si bon...

When I'm with you

Written By: Traciana Graves

It started out a while ago
backstage in Paris, after the show
I was shy, insecure, after too many
heartaches, wasn't looking for more
to my great surprise
I fell into your velvet eyes.
I felt myself aglow
and you sprinkled sun into my soul.

When I'm with you
When I'm with you
When I'm with you
When I'm with you

I'm calling all angels earthbound and sacred
alms I'm paying for bringing my baby

Keep us safe from harm,
Keep are hearts strong
Keep us sheltered from every storm
Keep the magic growing
The blessings flowing may your light always show.

When I'm with you
When I'm with you
When I'm with you
When I'm with you.

J'aimes feeling, ce feeling,
ce feeling j'aimes feeling
