"Busta Rhymes - Genesis (J Records)"

Every rapper uses guest stars on his or her album -- it's the law -- but few let them shine like Busta Rhymes. He's not afraid to share the spotlight, even if it means he's the least riveting element about a song, as is the case with the title track Genesis, where Tracy Leila's witch-y vocals steal the track. However, when he does take center stage, Busta's halting, ragga-inflected rhymes often border on the unintelligible, and too many songs become reliant on catchy choruses that sucker-punch the generic verses. If only Genesis had Phil Collins.
