Tracing Shadows formed in November 2007 in the central Virginia city of Charlottesville. Caleb Einwechter (vocals/guitars) and Shawn Burton (drums) had met through a mutual friend, Shep Stacy, while persuing separate projects with Shep's Side Project Studios at Stacy's Music Store. After a long search for two more musicians to complete the line-up, they came in contact through MySpace with two former members of the Charlottesville local band Ravens Place. The four hit it off and looking forward to the start of a sonic powerhouse that can be described as melodic, emotive and passionate. The group first got the idea for the name from a quote by Martin Luther King Jr. "Everything we see is a
shadow cast by that which we do not see." So music is a way to trace the shadows of our world.
Some influences include Incubus, Jimmy Eat World and Smashing Pumpkins. Commited to their craft, Tracing Shadows looks forward to enriching
the local music scene, rocking out for an ever-growing fan base and embracing everything the future holds for their music.
