"Track Dogs"

This absorbing collection from the Madrid four piece formerly known as Garrett Wall Band is their third album as a band, and successfully brings together a plethora of influences - 60's pop, folk, blues, Celtic and African - to create a remarkably assured, modern European acoustic-roots record.

Comprising chief songwriter, irishman Garrett Wall, and members fomr the UK and USA, Track Dogs display a warm breeziness that refplects their Iberian domicile, with Howard Brown's trumpet adding an exotic edge that is occasionally reminiscent of the more recent pop sound of Chumbawamba.

Wall is a fine frontman with his matured and mellow vocals well suited to laid-back, funky groove of the band's interpretation of Nick Drake's "Hazey Jane II" and the generally unhurried atmosphere of the album. As an antidote to introverted naval gazing, Track Dogs¡ ebullient, melodic bounce could give Noah And The Whale and Mumford & Sons a serious lesson or two. Check out "Piece of Cake" for the evidence.

Track Dogs is a jaunty, smile-inducing collection of classic pop songwriting, that not only harks back to the 60's golden age but also manages to sound thoroughly contemporary. - R2, UK

"Ex-Pats Mess With The Formula"

Robbie Jones' banjo on the charming "Raise Your Head", brings a fresh tone, and more than a touch of the Mumfords and the uptempo "Piece of Cake" with it's stirring handclaps and namechecking Jesus and Buddha is also strong.
It's to the Dogs' credit that you don't pine for the absence of electric guitar and a proper drumkit. - Hot Press, Ireland

On Track Dogs, he (Garrett Wall) and fellow Dub Dave Mooney team up with Ohio's Robbie Jones and England's Howard Brown for a unique blend of Cajun-influenced acoustic folk pop.
All four supply vocals on this intoxicating set of strong songs drenched in superb harmonies and contagious melodies. - The Irish Star Newspaper

"Garrett Wall Band / Sky Pointing"

"Press cuts "Hands & Imperfections""

"Their star seems set to rise further still with this latest album. It's a heartfelt and sensitive record, well-produced and with a bright sound throughout. The playing is tight and the arrangements varied and well thought out...best of all, the delicious dreamlike minor-key soulfulness of "Mynah Bird".

"...What could well be their first great work together...revitalized folk-pop, creates it's own interesting universe."
El Embrujo, Madrid

"...Garret Wall Band don't cease to surprise..."Hands & Imperfections" (Mondegreen Records) is their cleanest album to date, in the sense of being impeccable, spotless, bright, and clear...from "Copernicus Dreams" to "Never Give All The Heart", it speaks coherently and with a warmth seldom seen."
20minutos, Madrid

"They've done it again, we praised their last album and I thought they wouldn't be able to better it, impossible...and then this! ...get it!"

"Sky Pointing (2008)"

If Sunday mornings, those bright mornings when the sun warms the skin while you languish in a tranquil state, could make music they would sound like the songs of Garrett Wall.

This is precisely the name of the guitarrist and voice of this quartet. A dubliner based in Madrid who has things quite clear when it comes to music: the strength of his songs hides between the hornsm the cajón and the exciting rhythms. all of this, accompanied by a great voice, filters into your ears and hooks you without recourse. The band of Garrett Wall is made up of the american Robbie K. Jones (Cajón), Howard Brown (Trumpet) and Dave Mooney (Bass).

An album which apart from it's ten songs includes a series of multimedia content, 2 videos and three mp3. A proposition which always adds to the value of an album and is very welcome indeed.

The songs are upbeat give the album a sense of freshness. "Friend I will stand you up..." chorus of "Jealousy", or the trumpet of "Terra Firma" intermix with more intense and mellower songs like "So Glad" giving an album perfectly poised to be translated to a live situation.

Maybe for this reason it was recorded in only three days. "The four of us in one room playing live in lo-fi over two days and recorded in hi-fi..." they confess on the sleevenotes of the album.

"Sky Pointing" an album which I recommend if you like the fresh air of the morning, clean and likeable voices, and the company of a great trumpet.

"Sky Pointing"

With a very atypical line-up of acoustic guitar, bass, cajón and trumpet we are presented with the Irishman Garrett Wall, a familiar face on the Madrid gig circuit in venues such as Café La Palma or Clamores. Based in Spain for nine years now, he has a significant musical career behind him already with five albums to his name. "Terra Firma", "So Glad" or "Force Majeure" share the same universe as artists of the calibre of Jack Johnson, Mason Jennings or Neil Halstead.

TRACK DOGS

Superior Americana…joyous stuff
Hot Press, October 2013

The band takes it's name from the maintenance teams working the subway tracks in New York City. These teams have to look out for each other and are a closely-knit group much like the band of four ex-pats living in Spain who came together in 2011 to make their unique brand of acoustic music.

Eschewing the typical band line-up they have opted for Cajón (flamenco box drum) instead of drums and trumpet in place of electric guitar. Four-part harmonies steal the show.

“...full of surprises, every offering the only type of pleasant sucker punch you can imagine. Remi's Musicandfilm, Ireland

Made up of two Irishmen, an Englishman and an American the band have just released the first single from their third studio album "Serenity Sessions". The track "Bon Scott, He Rocked" is a close-harmony bluegrass tribute to the former AC/DC frontman.

This band turned out to be a total discovery, with vocal harmonies on a par with groups like Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, America or the most melodic style of, for example, the Eagles mixed in with the graceful irreverence of The Pogues.
Renacer Eléctrico Music Magazine, Spain

Track Dogs continue to tour in Spain, Ireland and the UK and look forward to bringing their acclaimed live show to other parts of the world

“…Track Dogs are never in danger of overstaying their welcome...The tracks on Serenity Sessions drive along with an alacrity and unified sense of purpose that makes hearing it a joy...it all manages to sound thoroughly fresh and invigorating…”
R2, UK
