Tracy Thorne

Known for her ability to silence a crowded room with the sound of her voice and her guitar, Tracy Thorne is a folk singer-songwriter not to be missed. Her love for story-telling and her desire to feel a constant connection to her listeners mixed with a pure voice and sweet guitar makes Tracy's music a memorable experience.
Although she now hangs her hat in Harlem, Tracy holds on to her Southern roots, and her constant search for a place to call home (sometimes literally) is reflected in many of her songs. Inspired by her last trip to Nashville, the title of Tracy's newest EP sprang forth in "Chinatown Bus To Nashville" including the track "Back to Tennessee". This song is her coming face to face with the reality of leaving behind a someone who she only wishes would want her to stay.
Tracy is influenced not only by the music of such artists as Nizlopi, Patti Griffin, and Fiona Apple, but finds a muse in the sounds of the streets, the way the sun shines on her bed, or the smile of a stranger passing by. Tracy Thorne hopes to be heard in order to not quell, but fuel the desire so deep within her to connect with anyone who has an open heart and mind, if only for a song.
