Bio

National Recording Artist Tracy Worth, dubbed “the sweet voice of gospel music,” has stepped onto a vast new frontier by embracing a variety of musical influences with her own distinctive creativity and style. Armed with her signature angelic voice and melodic storytelling, Tracy delivers a blend of Contemporary, Inspirational and Traditional gospel with hints of soul, jazz, and pop.

Ushered on to the gospel music scene by Melvin Williams of the incomparable Williams Brothers, Tracy has been blessed to share her music with a variety of audiences, with appearances on TBN’s Praise the Lord, the Hollywood Gospel Insider Award Show, Nashville’s “GMA Week,” Shirley Caesar’s Conference, Dr. Bobby Cartwright’s Gospel Superfest and Ambassador Bobby Jones’ International Gospel Artist Retreat. She has sung on several Bobby Jones television programs, including Gospel Explosion and BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel Hour.

The video of Tracy’s duet with Melvin Williams, “I’ll Follow You”, earned her a Stellar Award nomination. Her music videos aired nationally on BET Video Gospel and the WORD Network, in addition to a host of regional programs. They can also be seen on YouTube. Her debut album, Don’t Let Heaven Pass You By, which featured “I’ll Follow You,” was dubbed by The Black Gospel Blog (TBGB) as “tuneful…contemporary without being copycat.” TBGB Editor Robert Marovich calls Tracy “one of those rare and gifted singers who can lead you into new musical territory, then whisk you right back into church without your even knowing it. Tracy Worth is real, the entire package; she’s a true music evangelist!”

Tracy recently fulfilled another lifelong dream as a radio co-host on historic WVON’s “Joy and Jubilation”, a program dedicated to the history of gospel music. Together with hosts Reggie Miles and Yvonne Wesley, Tracy presented biographical information on gospel pioneers. Tracy’s songwriting talent is showcased on “Say It Out Loud”, a dynamic duet between Melvin Williams and Irocc, for Melvin’s CD Love Like Crazy.

Tracy also holds a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science. In 2008, she was awarded a grant from the State of Illinois Library to host a series of music business workshops in libraries that included involvement from BMI, ASCAP, SEASAC, and NARAS and industry colleagues. She is committed to the educational advancement of music professionals. She’s currently in the studio working on her much anticipated sophomore release set to bless in the fall of 2009.

“Tracy Worth brings a wealth of talent and hope to the world of music as an artist and songwriter. Her singing is heartfelt, honest, and most of all, believable!” Thomas Cain, Senior Director, Writer Publisher Relations, BMI
"Tracy Worth…is WORTH IT - Ministry, Anointed, Deliverance. Don't miss an opportunity to extend an invitation, in any situation, for her to minister." Bishop Sam Williams, New Gospel Experience Ministries, Board Member, National GMWA.
