Tragically Yours is a hard rock band from Northern New Jersey. Formed in early 2008, the group merges the power of metal guitar riffs with infectious, poppy vocal melodies. Fueled by the songwriting team of Doug Hoekstra (bass) and Joe DeProspero (vocals), Tragically Yours’ music crosses seamlessly between genres of rock, alternative and metal in a way that refreshingly separates them from other bands.
The band was founded when Hoekstra, looking for an avenue to “carry out songs that had been floating around in [his] mind for years,” recruited rock veteran DeProspero and long-time friend Danny Glozzy (drums) to start a band. While writing songs and developing their style, the trio went through a long and arduous search for a lead guitarist to complete the lineup. Their efforts were ultimately rewarded when they discovered guitar virtuoso Rick Merino (lead guitar), whose addition brought a unique metal influence to Tragically Yours.
