Bio

Would you believe all of our lyrics are written by a Catholic School teacher? A mutual friend introduced him to Aaron in 2003, suggesting that they might collaborate on making music together, and the Trailerpark brand of incisive, insightful, humorous, high-energy music was born in the first meeting. Aaron was quick to involve his brother Allen on the drums, and then it took another 2 years to find Dan, our Rock on the bass. Until then, Aaron attempted to fill that void by using alternate guitar tunings, which resulted in arrangements for some tunes which still stand today..... and there was one friend we tried for a couple of months, but all his bass lines sounded like Miles Davis solos, so we knew that wasn't going to work.....
After a few years of steady practice at the Catholic School twice a week, it became apparent that the band needed a 'singer', since Andrew, who writes the lyrics, was proving that singing was not his strong suit. Aaron tried singing for a few months, however, it meant that he could not concentrate on just playing the guitar. Dan suggested that we give his brother Nick a chance at the job, and since then the band has consisted of two pairs of brothers. Nick quickly showed a natural presence on stage that was hard to ignore, and he learned the tunes quickly. Before we knew it, we had a show at the Horseshoe in summer 2008, and by the end of the summer we were asked to be the opening band for the classic-rock band A Foot In Cold Water, who were playing a reunion show for the Flavours By The Bay Festival east of Toronto. Thus, our first brush with fame......
Part of Trailerpark Cinderellas' appeal is the humour in our tunes, musically as well as lyrically. Aaron and Allen were raised with a steady diet of rock music, with heavy doses of Led Zeppelin and Kiss. Dan also comes with a similar longtime hard rock background, while Nick is younger than the rest, and so has a more contemporary taste. Interestingly, while the music can all be classified as 'rock', there are many flavours that can be easily identified in the music, such as Reggae, Ska, Punk, Tex-Mex, and Country, to name a few. It is this diversity that keeps the crowd going when we take the stage, since they never quite know what to expect from us, but they know it's gonna rock!
