Bio

Trains To Holland came together in the summer of '06 with the idea to mix dance and rock music to make a new sound of music. Alex Capistran and Lance Alexander, both whom were in a previous band together called Hello Emergency, moved to Austin, Texas from their hometown of Brownsville, Texas to begin work on their new experiment. Once Lance and Alex got settled in Austin, they began the search for new members but did not find too much luck in finding new people. This led Lance, originally a guitarist, to take drum duties and Alex to take vocal and guitar duties.

After months of hard work and preparation, hometown friend Joey Showgo followed the duo and joined them to fill in the missing guitar parts. Once the lineup was complete, the trio took to the road to show people their sound and were taken in well by the audience. While on the road, many people described them as the new sound of rock and were thrilled by the opportunity to be able to dance and rock at the same time during a Trains To Holland set. Their biggest show to date was in the summer of '07 when, during the show, fans got on stage and began to dance all around the stage and the band. During this show is when the members of the band realized that their sound was something special. To this date, fans continue to join the band on stage and dance until the end of their set.

Mixing electronic music with electric guitars backed by dancy drum beats and catchy melodies was not always easy for the trio. When they first began the writing process, Lance, Alex and Joey went through numerous amounts of songs and writing styles until finally finding their style and sound. Being influenced by the sounds of The Beatles, Michael Jackson, The Strokes and others, has contributed to making their sound and style what it is now.
