Bio

Tranquilizer originated when guitarist Chris Edwards began writing songs in the “Sabcore” style, heavy music with groove, feel, and a dark vibe.

Paul Kyle, his long time partner from previous bands, was on-board as bassist.

Cody Sorrells fit the bill perfectly on drums and percussion.

Roger Ott soon solidified the Tranquilizer guitar team by adding his southern feel to the mix, finalizing the Tranquilizer sound on top of Cody and Paul’s solid, well-suited playing.

Soon the voice of Tranquilizer, Adam Glenn, brought his throaty, evil stamp to the music. Tranquilizer was truly born in spring 2005, along with the unique “Confentagram” image.

Tranquilizer played its first live show in October 2005. The impressive and refreshing performance was well received among musicians and fans alike. Recording at The Red Room Studio in late 2005 yielded a 2-song demo “Ole Number 2”, featuring the live staples “Last of the Only” and “Horizon’s Phantasm”. Copies of the CD circulated around Central Florida, building crowds at the string of live shows that followed. Tranquilizer’s first wave of attack culminated in opening for W.A.S.P. at Hard Rock Live Orlando (only their 5th show!)

Tranquilizer returned to The Red Room in spring 2006 to begin work on their first full-length recording. With the addition of Ruins Of Old Management in September 2006, Tranquilizer has begun to spread the damage regionally, already playing shows as far away as North Carolina and Louisiana. The full-length CD, “Disillusioned Rebels”, is currently being shopped by Ruins Of Old and is turning heads in the process.

Tranquilizer plays heavy music the way it is supposed to be played, without concern for trends or fashion. Tranquilizer thrives in the blood and guts of real rock and metal.
