"The evening began with an early set from Allston’s Trans Cardia. They kicked off a set of competent rock, layering guitars and thick grooves under Christine Keenan’s standout vocals. Trans Cardia is capable of inventive and interesting tones, though the need to fall back into metal riffing seems like a habit they should try and resist."

Bio
Hailing from the rock music capital of the northeast, Transcardia has transcended genres and created a unique vocal driven modern rock sound that commands the attention of their audience. The Boston, Massachusetts quartet combines dance-inspired female vocals and intricate experimental guitar playing with upbeat drum work and a bassist with a knack for groove. Forming in early 2006, Transcardia developed a strong presence in the Boston rock scene. After parting ways with their singer in late 2007, Transcardia trudged on, writing new material and searching for a new singer. In 2008 Chiara Corey (vocals) was added to the original lineup of Scott Gibson (guitar), Corey Fyfe (bass), and Jesse Coutu (drums). In early 2008, Transcardia will debut their new lineup and continue work on their long awaited EP. With influences as varied as grunge rock, funk, ska, and metal, Transcardia will impress fans of any style, age, or background. If you are looking for something a little different on the music scene, check out one of Transcardia's live shows.
