Transfers is currently working on their first EP. It is five songs of cream gravy and fixins'. They hope to be finished before they break up.

TRANSFERS makes music in Texas. Stylistically, they make their bed in rock and roll but there is some dancing that wants to be done under the sheets of feedback squall and hollerin'. Comparisons to a particular scene or sound is abstract at best. You hear the elements of rock and post-rock, punk and post-punk, disco, metal, etc. They talk about wanting to sound like The Walkmen and Stereolab and Radiohead at a party with TV on the Radio and Neil Young while watching a TV show starring Les Savy Fav. Transfers don’t really sound like any particular band or genre instead they bask in the light of all that surrounds them and absorbs the warmth.
This is brash but not immediate, familiar but not too comfortable. Singer Brad Angotti wants to croon and scream and shake and transcend and fail. Naomi Vallejo can sound smooth and soulful then rock the party with a shouty dance cadence.
All parties involved played in different bands before they came together in 2005 in San Antonio, TX, playing as a three piece up until late 2007 when they were joined by Steven Anderson after he finished climbing the educational ladder.
Jonathan Stovall cut his teeth musically writing for a project called Middleroom with a buddy of his. They kicked much ass but things slowed and eventually stopped (and then some people in China started really liking them) and he somehow found and contacted Brad via the black hole of MySpace after years and years of not having much contact with Brad.
Naomi was found or found them, was invited to practice, showed up way late and she hasn't been on time since. She had formerly played in Nelly Kelly and Ledaswan and was itching to play. She was a pretty damn good bass player so they asked her to stay and I think she said yes.
Steven collects gear and rocks and asked Transfers if he could play with them. So they let him but not until he finished college because the band needed to employ someone with a degree.
While Transfers does rely heavily on its tantalizing good looks to bolster its appeal, musically it attempts to create a unique sound built from the experiences of each member and it has established itself as a symbol of the new SA scene.
