Transit
Transit is a brilliant and near-spiritual type of transient alternative rock that grabs hold and sinks in so deep you can almost feel the music in your spine. I checked out their profile while I was surfing the internet in another browser window, and felt myself being carried away by the spirit of the song. When it ended, I felt the familar sense of loss and awakening that I often experienced after listening to a particularly good track from U2 or David Bowie, and I found myself going back to listen to the other tracks.

Transit supplies a nice mix of songs on Myspace that all help contribute to the overall feel and balance one another out. They are compelling listens that captivate the listener from start to finish. In Transit, you can hear both the influences of U2 and Coldplay, but with traces of latin-influenced rhythms, and the majority of the songs more closely resemble poems. I am reminded, in listening to this band, of the strong role that effective imagery plays in good music.
