Bio

His voice is instantly recognizable, whether he sings for Naervaer, Stille Opprør, Green Carnation or for his new project TRANSIT! This is due to In The Woods... of course, the exceptional Norwegian band whose singer, lyricist, and public spokesman Jan Kenneth “Transit” Transeth was for eight years.

The debut album of TRANSIT was made between 2004 and 2006. It clarifies strongly what the names Jan Kenneth Transeth and Karmakosmetix – the label releasing much of what the former In The Woods... cohorts are doing today – stand for: “From the onset, we have been a hugely productive lot,” Transeth said in an interview. “Thanks to In The Woods..., I know that art needs time to mature independently. In my eyes, this is all about having fun and venturing to do something new in music!”

“Decent Man on a Desperate Moon” takes a look back and incorporates many of the elements that have always been important to Transeth. At the same time, this record is a step forward, remains in motion, alternating between intimate pieces, catchy rockers, and experimental tracks such as “Ad Anima Part III.” A bona-fide hit like “Bleed on Me” is testimony to Transeth’s songwriting abilities.
