"Transmission. Here's a four-man band that really rocks. These guys are great. They've got songwriting ability and musicianship galore. Their songs are well-paced, like they're not in a rush to prove how good they are. If you like Creed, Pearl Jam, and other melodic hard rock acts, give these guys a listen."

Transmission is an Atlanta, GA based rock group with their act together! It is obvious that these guys have their act together; and it is even more obvious that their intentions are to take this project as far as they can in the commercial industry.

I would not be surprised to see Transmission on MTVX in the near future! - John Everett Tate

"Mars Music Press Release"

Atlanta-based Band Transmission Selected for
Mars Music's Compilation CD for September 11th Relief Fund
December 19, 2001 - Mars Music announced this week that Transmission is among the artists featured on their soon-to-be released compilation CD - Band Together…Artists Unite. Proceeds from the release, co-sponsored by Mars Music and Disc Makers , will go to the United Way's disaster relief efforts for September 11th.

The compilation consists of separate discs that represent music by local and national artists from five distinct regions across the U.S. Mars Music staff members listened to hundreds of submissions from across the country before narrowing the selections to include the final line-up for each disc. Transmission, one of only two bands from the Atlanta area to be selected, will be included on a disc that features bands from the Southeast. The discs feature songs from some of the best unsigned bands in the country as well as contributions from various national artists, including Seven Mary Three, Chris Barron (of The Spin Doctors), Peter Frampton, and more.

The song Mars Music selected for the CD - Push Through - is also featured on the band's upcoming self-titled EP. Transmission members Jason Roby (vocals), Tommy Thompson (guitar), Josh Hack (drums), and Greg Sword (bass) are excited about the opportunity to be part of the MARS compilation project. "Although this song was written over a year ago, the lyrics are so encouraging that its easy for everyone to relate to, especially now," said Roby. "We're honored to be included," said Hack. "September 11th touched us all. This is a great opportunity to do something special to help."

Upon release, the CD will be available at all area Mars Music locations. For the release date of the CD, visit the Mars Music Web site at www.marsmusic.com. For more information on Transmission, visit their Web site at www.transmissionrock.com.

Bio

Mysteriously moving with a kick-you-in-the-face punch that demands your attention, TRANSMISSION is the perfect blend of heavy rock riffs, hard-hitting drums, melodic interludes, and truly inspirational lyrics. Just as the melody begins to envelope your body and the lyrics engulf your mind, this band kicks your ass without looking back. With influences ranging from Tool to The Beatles, its no wonder this foursome is creating some of the most memorable and melodic hard rock tunes to come out of Atlanta in years.

Formed in 1999 by guitarist Tommy Thompson and vocalist Jason Roby, TRANSMISSION's lineup became final in the summer of 2001 with the addition of drummer Josh Hack and bassist Greg Sword. Evident in their heavy commercial melodies, TRANSMISSION is pure chemistry! With dynamics ranging from hushed wisps of layered air to body-pounding punches, TRANSMISSION produces a darkly energetic stage show that completely absorbs the audience.

As testament to the band’s musical prowess and business sensibilities, TRANSMISSION has already accomplished a great deal within their first year of existence. They have sold hundreds of copies of their debut 3-song EP, and have also been selected to be included on Mars Music’s Band Together compilation CD for the Southeast region, which benefited the victims of the 9/11 tragedies. TRANSMISSION also broke an attendance record at the club where they played their very first hometown show. Since then, they have continually turned out excellent attendances at their shows, sometimes to near capacity crowds and the numbers continue to grow. They have also played shows and festivals in other states around the Southeast region, which has begun to generate a TRANSMISSION fan base outside of their hometown.

Now, as the band prepares to record and release their debut full-length CD, their popularity in the Southeast continues to grow. The band is currently performing at venues in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina with tour expansion into other areas of the region expected over the next several months.

From large to small venues, TRANSMISSION is generating a loyal fan base and a great deal of industry attention, due to the intensity of their live shows and the strength of their songs.
