"Albery Albuquerque Gives a Voice to the Amazon"

If you thought singing animals were reserved for animated Disney movies, think again. Albery Albuquerque and his son Thiago study animal sounds of Northern Brazil and compose music in the voices of their subjects. It’s a serious academic endeavor. “With music, we are opening a giant door into the world of science,” explains Albery.

Albery’s research is in the field of transmorphic music, sounds derived through and beyond the forms that we perceive. Anything that can be measured in some way has a corresponding sound and can be expressed as music. Albery names architectural music, geometric music, cosmic music, and biologic music as examples. Within the category of biologic music, you can use patterns in nature or animal sounds as the base for musical expression. Albery works primarily with animal sounds to compose what is known among experts in his areas as Universal Transmorphic Music of Language.

The name sounds like the subject of a sci-fi movie, I know. And while Albery may personally believe in a number of unearthly phenomena, he conducts his research using strict scientific method. In fact, he holds a number of honorary degrees from universities across Brazil for his pioneering methods and has been invited to international conferences to present his work. - Sound and Colours

In the Alive Music of the Forest, Albery Albuquerque studied and transformed the sonorous spontaneous languages vocalized by the animals of the Amazonian forest, in latest musical schools - new musical genus, new forms of composition, counterpoint, harmonization, translation and adaptation - in this way the languages of the animals, had started to be culture, therefore the musician acquires the capacity to develop musical creative reasoning, from the related languages, originating an innovative and revolutionary work of creativity scientific music. Beyond innovative and educative, that this kind of music suggests, as much for preservation of Amazon nature, it is also a new form of ecological conscience that preserves with deep responsibility the universal nature and ecological patrimony (languages vocalized for the animals) through music, therefore the main direction of this method, he is in learning the forms of creation of the nature, and not in plagiarizing them. Being thus, we can compose, for example, a True Uirapuru (new musical sort) without plagiarizing or changing the language vocalized for the related bird. There are composers and musicians, who had plagiarized the vocalizations of the animals, that is, they had repeated the animal vocalization, and as Jean Jakes Rosseaux said: “it is a great nonsense to plagiarize the vocalizations of the animals, therefore it does not have human creativity in this act”. However, in 2000, Albery Albuquerque presents one another view in this area and discovers a revolutionary and latest musical way. In contrast to other musicians who only knew to plagiarize the vocalizations of the animals, or to coerce the animals so that they vocalized in writing studios, Albery Albuquerque discovered a musical infinite school, from the studies made for it, on the musical elements and the sonorous effect that constitute the language vocalized by diverse species of animals of the Amazon and the world, being this fact cited in the French magazine “Jazz Man” nº 115 joillet/aout 2005. Albery de Albuquerque Júnior has 52 years old is gradueted in Licenciatura Plena with Qualification in Music for the Universidade Do Estado do Pará (UEPA). He is professor, musician, researcher, composer, guitar player and lecturer. Amongst other studies developed for the related musician-researcher, we can detach the study of “Advanced Music”, that it is summarized in a world-wide unusual revolutionary method of musical wisdom. The method of the related research, developed his studies, on possible phenomena of comment, allows amongst other things, extracting the sounds (music) contained in objects, the movements of the things, or of any measurable times, as well as of languages also vocalized for species of animals of the Amazon and the world. With effect, through this method created by Albery Albuquerque and Thiago Albuquerque, it was possible to introduce extremely creative artistic and scientific processes and renews the universe of music, what it takes its apprentice to acquire a form of sensitivity wisdom and extraordinary musical conscience, which we call of Trans-Generality Conscience.
