Artist Name: Trap Boi Gangsta

Real Name: Demarcus Huffine

Growing up in East Knoxville Tennessee, in an area Knoxville police department designated the “ Gun Zone” Because of it rising gun crime rate. Surrounded by poverty, drugs and gang violence the only positive outlet for Trap Boi Gangsta was always music. Growing up in the church, Trap Boi Gangsta fell in love with all genres of music from the beginning such as: gospel, R&B, Soul, Blues and of course Hip Hop. The day He heard Master P’s “I’m Bout It” was the day he decided he wanted to be a rapper. As the years went on his love for hip hop only grew stronger.
At age 17, Trap Boi Gangsta, his brother and 3 friends formed a group called the “Trap Bois”. They began working on their craft while recording original songs over instrumentals they downloading off the internet. They begin producing mixtapes titled “Trap Bois Volume 1, 2,3,4 and 5” an which they gave away in there neighborhood and local mall for exposure.
With their careers not taking off as they would have hoped and the lost of a group member due to a gun shot wound. Trap Boi Gangsta decided it was time to take the initiative and up his work ethic in order to get his group signed and out of the situation they were currently in. With no prior knowledge of the entertainment business Trap Boi Gangsta set out on a mission. He Begin booking performance spots at local venues where his group had the privilege of opening for artists such as: Ace Hood, Young Jezzy, Gucci Mane and Plies. They Also per formed at a local community event called “The Kuumba Festival “as well participating in an open mic event called “Show Case Sunday” in which they performed almost every Sunday until the event was no longer held.
Trap Boi Gangsta also went on a campaign of submitting demos to every major label’s A&R whose information he could find. After months of shopping his groups demo to various Label Reps, Trap Boi Gangsta finally got a return letter from Grand Hustles Jason Geter that read “I Like Number 1, Get better production and resubmit”. This frustrated and discourage the other members of his group but not Trap Boi Gangsta. He was more interested in the fact that the letter was hand writing. To him it showed that some one actually listen to his music and inspired him to strive even harder to reach his goal of being a chart topping hip hop artist.
Over the next two years Trap Boi Gangsta would lose the remaining members of his group due to disagreements and the penal system. Instead of giving up on his life long dream Trap Boi Gangsta Decided it was time to let the group dissolve and take time to find out if he was willing to give everything it took to get where he wanted to be. It Didn’t take long for him to realize that he not only wanted to be a top charting hip hop artist but that he wanted to be a future hip hop mogul. He realized that longevity in the hip hop game was what he wanted.
That led to Trap Boi Gangsta creating his own Indie Label, Elite Music Group Recordings. He began recording new tracks and hooked up with an aspiring dj by the name DJ New Era to release a solo mixtape title YNWA that will be released in march . With the heart of a lion and the drive of 10 men, Trap Boi Gangsta made a decision to put his self in the perfect position to take over the music industry.
Trap Boi Gangsta’s sound is exactly as his name states “GANGSTA”, in other words very straight forward. With his unique voice, constant Rhythmic change ups and originality he covers the everyday life of a “Trap Boy” as well as taking on the issues that plague every inner city neighborhood in America, just like his.
