Bio

Waking up on the floor of an unfamiliar house, mouths tasting of Beer and whiskey, brothers Sean and Wayne Jackson and friend Nik Shultz vaguely recall the events of the night before. Possibly the best New Year’s Eve party ever (possibly the worst hangover ever as well), the highlight of the night was a decision for the three to form a band. And so, on New Year’s Day 2010, Trashqueen was unleashed on the world.

Combining a hazy swagger of Fuzzy slide guitar, dirty grooves and raspy cigarette singed vocals, TrashQueen's concoction of garage blues rock Takes heavy influence from 60’s & 70’s bands such as Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Hendrix and the rolling stones.

Trashqueen crashed onto the scene midway through 2010, headlining shows at venues around Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley and gaining a reputation amongst punters. In that short time span the band managed to:

- Play at several local festivals including ‘On The Pulse’ and ‘Fresh From The Garage’

- Release demo tracks that received airplay on triple Z

- Perform at the ‘Starving Kids Records’ annual fundraiser at the Old Museum

- Perform at the ‘Brisbane sounds’ Xmas party at the Zoo

- Be nominated for a 2010 Qsong award

As 2010 came screaming to a halt and 2011 crept around the corner the band decided to up its numbers by adding old friend ‘Uncle’ Joe to the line up on rhythm guitar.

During 2011 the band continued developing there sound and playing shows, they managed to:
- support local Brisbane hard rock and punk bands such as ‘Iron Bird’, ‘JJ Speedball’, ‘Last Call’ ‘De La Cruz’ etc.

- Continue headlining shows around Brisbane

- Play more festivals such as ‘Young bloods’, ‘Rage against the Mainstream’ and ‘Scorcher Fest’
