Travis has been playing drums in rock bands since the age of twelve. His subsequent bands and passion for drumming, led him to songwriting and guitar. After writing very bad lyrics and even worse songs, relatable material started to surface after some extreme experimentation . "Home" a folky acoustic ballad, had peaked some interest in Nashville and will be seen again on an upcoming project next year. Sharpening mic skills while playing in bars, coffee houses, sidewalks, Dollar-Tree store openings and 5K marathons have allowed Travis to make ends meet with his music. To this day, every recording features Travis playing drums, guitars and singing.
With a staggering synergy and calculating performance, Travis James shows are sure to leave audiences with something to hold on to. Mental Notes was released and soon after was picked up by MTV and other national networks for licensing opportunities. Travis James & The Truth were featured on TijuanaFlats.com as the winner of their
Southeast U.S regional "Rock Out" contest, and have played the main stage (making an impact on the A&R panels) with multiple shows at The Florida Music Festival in Orlando and The Miami Music Festival.
