Bio

Travis Peery is a dynamic new voice on the Los Angeles music scene. His original songwriting blends romantic lyrics with a strong sense of melody which will have you stomping your feet and singing along to his memorable choruses. His powerful vocals, which blend the grit of roots rock vocalists like Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes with the sweet and soulful style of Sam Cooke and Otis Redding, really bring his songs to life.

From before the time he was born, Travis was exposed to some of the greatest music of all time. While still in the womb, his father (a jazz pianist) and his mother would put headphones around his mother’s belly and play him everything from Beethoven to the Rolling Stones. Judging by the kicks of delight that resulted from this earliest of musical educations, his parents could tell that music would become an important part of his life.

He first started playing music as a pre-schooler with music lessons that ranged from hitting bongo drums, to singing, to a few chords on the guitar and piano. His true dedication to music, however, began in college when his roommate brought an acoustic guitar back to their dorm one weekend. Travis quickly rediscovered his love for playing music and shortly thereafter joined the rock group Double Stamp as lead singer and guitarist. The band released their album, “Hand Tighten Only,” in 2008.

A few years later, Travis moved to Los Angeles where he began playing solo shows at local venues and restaurants. In 2010, Travis released his second album entitled “Idea of a Girl,” and in December of 2010, he was named Vocalist of the Month by SingerUniverse.com for his performance of, “The Wrong Girl,” a song that was featured on a popular San Diego radio station that same year.  Encouraged by the reception he received, he decided to put a new band together. Since then, Travis along with Matt Paris (drums), Francis Breidenbach (bass), and Zach Stanford (keyboard), have been playing shows at some of the biggest venues in Los Angeles and their new album, "These Nights," will be released on April 2, 2016.
