""Travis Rocco Band Fills Cheel With Talent""

Every member of the Travis Rocco Band was enthusiastic and looked like they were having the time of their lives playing in the Cheel Commons Saturday evening. Throughout the show, the members of the band were introduced through featured instrument solos and introductions by vocalist Travis Rocco. Smoke, red stage lights, strobe lights, and rotating, flashing colored lights were some of the special effects for the performance the band used.

What kind of music would you consider the band? That seemed to be the question of the evening becuase the band seemed to fuse many different types and rolled them into one. They mixed the sounds of Dave Matthews with Travis Rocco's vocals and lyrics, a jazzy feel with tenor and soprano saxophone talent Steve Daniels, a rock beat by drummer Tom Kline, techno keyboard sounds, and an attitude of the Hives and the Vines.

Steve Daniels, who studied at Crane School of Music, never ceased to impress the audience with his blatently obvious skill on the saxophone. Switching beteen tenor and soprano saxophones between songs started it off, but playing both at once definitely topped it off! Such a feat is, surprisingly enough, possible, but very limiting to how much you can play by only using one hand per instrument. Promoting their new CD, the band played some new songs featured on the album, as well as some popular songs such as "Santeria" by Sublime, "Gin and Juice" by Snoop Dogg (sung by guitarist Shamus - oddly enough, a white Irishman), among others.

The band travels to New York, New York to perform in Union Square Park on September 17. For more information on tourdates, biographies on band members, and other news, check out their website at www.travisroccoband.com - Clarskon University

""Travis Rocco Band puts First Things Last""

"Cortland is known throughout the music world as the hometown of legendary rock singer Ronnie James Dio. But if things go right, perhaps the Travis Rocco Band will someday find itself just as well-known. The band's new CD, "First Things Last," certainly is a step in the right direction. Working with producers Ron Allaire (Fuel, Avril Lavigne) and Mark Wilder (Aerosmith, Norah Jones) at Manhattan's Skyline Studios, the band successfully captured its soulful acoustic rock-pop sound". - Jim Catalano ITHACA JOURNAL - Ithaca Journal

""First Things Last Debuts""

There's a cool acoustic rock band spreading its shadow way beyond its hometown of Cortland. The Travis Rocco Band's debut disc, "First Things Last," unveils a 2-year-old band that's experiencing growing gains instead of growing pains. The 11 songs on the disc - you don't want to miss the hidden, unlisted track at the end - let singer-songwriter-guitarist Rocco show off those talents. - Mark Bialczak SYRACUSE POST STANDARD
