"Refreshing and Nurturing for the Soul"

“A newcomer to the soul scene, Traycee Lynn is ready to take center stage. On her recent release The Awakening, she makes a powerful impression with her soft voice. Her lyrics are not watered down for consumption but refreshing and nurturing for the soul." Junior of WKDU 91.7FM - Recordbreakin.com

Bio

"Organic soul with an edge" is how Traycee Lynn's music is described by critics at Soul Brother Records in London, and this description is probably the most accurate to date.

Traycee Lynn is a songwriter, vocalist, and hip-hop artist who has been writing and beating hip-hop rhythms on tables since she was 8 (and now beating hip-hop rhythms on djembes). In November 2006, she released her second cd, this one titled The Awakening where she wrote all of the songs including a popular duet titled "I Don't Have to Be Right".

Lynn is the latest wave to bust through Philly's underground since the neo-soul era of Jill Scott. Her wide range of listeners include the young and the older adults. Her hypnotic choruses are catchy, sandwiched in between well thought out lyrics with a message for everyone's spirit.

Her style has been described as a"gumbo of the greats" such as Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu with an angelic sprinkle of Sade.

Her band includes Urban Shaman (a 2 to 3 piece drumming and percussion team of congo, djembe and standard drums), one bass player, one cello player, and a background male vocalist.
