Bio
Treason is a Miami hip hop artist defining his place in the industry. Not only does he write, rap, and sing, but he is also heavily involved in the production side of music. He's been involved in several projects, such as Adept's Pass It Around, and Elevated States Production, and has finally decided to make a go as a solo artist. He raps, not by choice, but because he has to, yielding music with big Miami sound and heartfelt, deep lyrics.
At age eleven, he'd been listening to a variety of artists, from EPMD to Too Short, but that was only a mild taste. One night, he was watching "Yo! MTV Raps" and discovered Nas's "One Love" video. The fire had been lit. He ate up whatever he could get a hold of: Biggie Smalls, Tupac, Snoop Dogg, anything from East Coast to West Coast. Hip hop "grew up" Treason. It was the only thing that was real to him. As a kid, it gave him understanding, and taught him how to react to life.
Though hip hop had struck a nerve, it didn't hit him until he was about 24 or 25 years old that music could be his path in life. He'd been unhappy, like he was missing something essential. A woman he was working for at the time told him, "You need to find something you're passionate about." It was a wake up call. He realized that he needed to make music. He needed to grab some of the thoughts and emotions floating inside and push them out into the world.
Right now, Treason is involved in a few side-projects, producing for other artists, but his main focus is putting together a solo project entitled Tales of Crime and Treason. "I know a lot of cats that like my stuff, so I figure its time to get to know if the world likes it."
