Bio

Treasure is a duo comprised of Joan Tick (former front woman with The Phenomenal Handclap Band) and Caleb Lindskoog (The Silver State). In 2008, Treasure released an EP titled "Tea Parties" which earned them acclaim in the DIY Brooklyn music scene, alongside the greater NYC music community.

Shortly after, Joan Tick joined the Pheomenal Handclap Band as a lead singer and keyboard player and toured with the band extensively. Meanwhile, Caleb joined Leisurely, an outfit produced by Ratatat's Mike Stroud. Both projects inadvertently placed Treasure on hold. Last year both Joan and Caleb decided to restructure their musical life in order to make Treasure their first priority. Now, Joan and Caleb have recorded a debut full-length with a tentative release date this spring.

The music of Treasure reflects the couple's existence as writers in New York who live tenacious artistic lives. The songs are surprising with unpredictable song structures, haunting lyrics, and combine the couple's influences in music such as Fleetwood Mac, CCR, Television, Kate Bush, Tom Petty, as well as literary writers such as Jorge Luis Borges, Edgar Allen Poe, and Elizabeth Hardwick.

Joan Tick also writes fiction, has her MFA in creative writing, and wrote a book of short stories as an addendum to Treasure's 2008 release. The stories have been published in various literary magazines and webzines alongside the music.

Treasure worked with Brian McTear and Jonathan Low of Weathervane Music based in Philadelphia to mix their forthcoming album.
