Kenneth Mayo, aka K-Soul was born in Washington, D.C. to a very loveable and supportive family. From the age of 9, music became his passion. His grandmother saw the talent that he possessed and put him in the little voices choir in church. During these formative years, he developed deep confidence in his singing ability. His vocals were honed to the point where he could compete with singers his age as well as older artists many years his senior. K-Soul has developed a clear and vibrant first tenor sound on the vocal scale. His style could be classified in the Neo-Soul genre.

As he grew up, K-Soul developed an ear for excellent music. He would listen to soulful music, gospel music and the greatest hits on the radio. From old school to new school music, K-Soul is inspired by all of them. Marvin Gaye, Donnie Hathaway, Jimmy Hendricks, D’Angelo, Luther Vandross , Ne-Yo are just a few musical legends that have left an indelible impact on his musical career.

In high school his concentration on musical endeavors escalated with great intensity. Anything that was remotely connected to music captivated K-Soul’s attention and he was deeply involved with it. He was a drum major as he lead the marching band, sang in the Concert Choir, Gospel Choir, Renaissance Choir, and Drama Club. K-Soul was enamored by these arts and thoroughly immersed himself in them.

Being a musical artist is very enriching for this young man, and as he is on stage, singing puts him into a special frame of mind. To perform before throngs of people is a deep seated obsession for this incredible artist. When he stands before the masses and enthusiastically belts out a song there is a powerful response with the crowd as his incredible vocals are on display for all to hear. He truly is an amazing artist.

K-Soul has garnered valuable experience in his formative years and it has developed his musical acumen. He has performed in churches, different venues around the Washington, D.C. area, from winning his first talent show in 2000, to opening for major recording artist, Avant, in 2001. Performing in these different environments, many groups, singing in numerous choirs, have given him a solid foundation. The future is shining with illumination as he marches forward with his career.

K-Soul recently signed with the record label “Vyzion Entertainment.” Vyzion foresees a very bright future for this artist. He has the talent, is very industrious, has a deep love for his art, and truly wants to share with the world his musical brilliance. K-Soul has started a journey with his career that will take him on a rewarding path. He possesses the deepest passion and love for his craft. There is much to come from and for K-Soul as he fulfills his musical dream.
