Bio

They say that an addiction can be bad for whoever gives into it, but in the case of Tredelle McLennon, it was the key to finding her inner soul's desire. Born in Toronto and raised in Scarborough, her musical journey began at the age of 6 singing in church choirs, various school talent shows, concerts and radio contests. By 14, she had discovered her craft for songwriting, which stemmed from such musical influences as Toni Braxton, Destiny's Child and Lauryn Hill. All these opportunities landed Tredelle as one of the members of a short-lived local gospel group called TC3. Focusing on forging forward rather than dwell on this loss, she continued to make memorable appearances, such as singing the national anthem at one of Toronto's well-known colleges, Centennial College. It was around that time that she grabbed musical entrepreneur Wil Orellana's attention, who for years had been helping local artists perfect their craft within the Toronto area. After meeting the promising star, he quickly involved her with ReflecLife Entertainment and provided her a chance to blossom in her writing and singing skills, helping her make the full transition from addiction to passion. That passion has translated into recognition when she successfully put out her own rendition of singer Chris Brown’s hit, “Say Goodbye” on YouTube, garnering her over 47,000 hits in its first full year. Harlem Lounge’s stage served as yet another platform on which the shy songstress was able to wow audiences last September. With a new promo single titled “You Used To” out now, even the European market has caught wind of this Hot child in the city by ranking her amongst the next artists to look out for on the rapidly growing website UrbanFusions.com. Now at the age of 18, Tredelle washes over the city like a musical heatwave, proving that when you let a talented woman flourish, nature will soon take its course. - Cindy Narcisse
