TRENT CREWS

Trent Crews is the freshest face on the ever trend setting music scene in New York City. With his first EP newly released and plans for a second, he has accumulated a vast variety of praise from top pop and urban music blogs alike and has maintained his artistic integrity. Usually tucked away in a recording studio within New York City’s famous Meat Packing district, he is quickly becoming a club favorite and a force to be reckoned with.

Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, he grew up in a household with both working class parents, and two sisters. Trent, who always wanted to be a singer as a child, and like many great artists before him, started singing in the church at the tender age of three. Suffering from a speech impediment, by the age of six Trent was heavily teased by his peers, causing him to socially shut down.

Not until the 8th grade did Trent begin to open up and found Pop music as a way to express himself to the world.

Drawing influence from the biggest artists on radio at the time, NSYNC, Britney Spears, and User as well as legends like Michael Jackson & Stevie Wonder, Trent feels that music helped him grow.

“Pop music was the first thing to actually feel organic to me, it was like we were meant to find each other and I haven’t left her since” he says.

As far as his speech impediment and how it affects his new career, he says it’s “motivating”. He hopes that his story and journey will be successful enough for others with similar issues to follow and go after their own dreams no matter what.
