"As Managing Editor of Singer&Musician magazine for six years, I had the opportunity to work with and watch many singer/songwriters perform. Many were industry leading indie artists. Many were excellent performers. To me, Trent easily fits into that group."
- Singer & Musician
"Trent Wagler has a very unique sound that nods to the traditions of Appalachia. His voice is unbelievably soulful. As I took a drink of wine from the styrofoam cup, I turned to Erik, "This is what I mean by 'authentic'." - Nine Tons of Marble Blog
This is a wellplayed, wellsung, and wellwritten acoustic Americana recording."
- Bluegrass Unlimited
"The lyrics are thought provoking and introspective, and the instrumentation is simple, yet full of emotion. For the fan of Old-time and Americana Roots music, Trent Wagler's Journal of a Barefoot Soldier is well worth the listen." - Americana Rhythm Magazine

Bio
Trent was born in Indiana and now lives in Virginia. Jay was born in Virginia and now lives in Indiana. The two have a story, what story you say? "We grew up with gospel and four part harmony singing, and a good dose of religion. We are Mennonites. Funk and rock rounded out our youth. What we sing and play comes from our past and the way we see the future. We are not bluegrass or folk or rock or gospel or any other one word. We respect our heritage and tradition, but pull from the youthful music that flows through us. We have also developed a yearning to write and perform the slow ballad with soft vocal harmonies that will warm even the hardest music lover. Come and listen. Stay awhile.
