Trepid: We play rock music... and ride goats.

Biography

Trepid is an original, hard rock band from Shreveport, Louisiana who melds the styles of grunge, blues, heavy metal, alternative, and of course classic hard rock with the perfect smatterings of dark, macabre humor. Fronted by Rubee Stew, Trepid brings an in-your-face attitude with a powerful vocal presence, original to the group. Brian Young plays guitars along with long time friend, David Gorman as bassist. Chris Stewart brings a distinctive style and is a force to be reckoned with behind the drums. "In Henry We Trust", their newly released EP, features all new original music and reworkings of two of their classic hits, "Gotta Let It Go" and "P.O.S. Local 318." Trepid's live show is a high energy event that is not to be missed. They have had the honor to share the stage with bands such as Devour the Day, Pop Evil, Halestorm, Red Sun Rising, Wayland, Shaman's Harvest, and numerous other national, regional, and local acts.

Rust

Written By: Etta Stewart (Rubee Stew),Brian Young,David Gorman,Chris Stewart

I hear those words you say in need
Choke down on every part of me
Kiss lips that turn blue and bleed
Come here to me and bury your greed

Your seed is
Your seed is
Your seed is
Fertile

Rust follows me
Just like the sea
Rust follows me
Into the sea

Lust ties me up and hangs me dry
Try to see through those tears you cry
Mascara runs and leaves black lines
Now hold tight while nails dig your insides

Your seed is
Your seed is
Your seed is
Fertile
Your seed is
Your seed is
Your seed is
Fertile

Rust follows me
Just like the sea
Rust follows me
Into the sea
Into the sea

Rust follows me
Rust follows me
Rust follows me
Into the sea
Into the sea

Rust follows me
Just like the sea
Rust follows me
Into the sea
Into the sea

Your seed is
Your seed is
Your seed is
Fertile

Feed the Beast

Written By: Etta Stewart (Rubee Stew),Brian Young,David Gorman,Chris Stewart

Blowing up your phone
At 3 a.m.
On you, only you my fate depends
Waiting for your reply
Threatening to cry

Oh, don't feed the beast in me
Don't feed the beast, let it be
Don't feed the beast in me
Don't feed the beast, let it be, let it be

Pestering your friends
When emotions run high
My self-validation is running dry
Hanging on your every word
Desperate and absurd

Oh, no,
don't feed the beast in me
Don't feed the beast, let it be
Don't feed the beast in me
Don't feed the beast, let it be, let it be

At times, I feel I'm the thorn in your side
All day, all night there's no where to hide
Truth be told, I hate the way I am
If you really loved me, you wouldn't feed the beast
Again, and again, and again, and again
And again, and again, and again, and again

Sometimes I might think
You've found someone new
It's a self-fulfilling prophecy coming true
Jealousy and vitriol
All of this just gets old

Oh,
don't feed the beast in me
Don't feed the beast, let it be
Don't feed the beast in me
Don't feed the beast, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Inside me, inside me, inside me, inside me
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Inside me, inside me, inside me, inside me
Let it be

Wax

Written By: Etta Stewart (Rubee Stew),Brian Young,David Gorman,Chris Stewart

My body is wax
Mold-able frame
Bent this way and that
Never the same

Crack at the knees
Holes in the face
I bend for you
I bend for you

Hands are hot
Heat me through
Flame is close
You know just what to do
Starting to drip
I'll gladly burn away
I burn for you
I burn only for you

If I disappear tonight
You're not to blame
It's only lack of sight
That's brought me to this game

I care not to see
I care not to feel
But what I want
And what is real

Hands are hot
Heat me through
Flame is close
You know just what to do
Starting to drip
I'll gladly burn away
I burn for you
I burn only for

I melt into your hands
I crumble in the cold
Only to come back to life
When you shift my shape
Shift my shape to mold
I will come back to life

Hands are hot
You know you heat me through
Flame is close
You know just what to do
Starting to drip
I'll gladly burn away
I burn for you
I burn only for you

Make me your doll
Make me your little waxen shrine
Set me afire
When you're no longer mine
Hard is hard
And eyes are dripping with wax tears
I melt for you
I melt only for you

Gotta Let It Go

Written By: Melissa Corbin Touchet,Brian Young,David Gorman,Larry Blevins

Live your life
Through everyone else
Fightin' their battles
Never works out
Pissin' and moanin'
'Til everyone is sick
Gotta Let Go
Live life for yourself

Things they happen
Life gets twisted
You will find
[You just gotta let it go]
So critical and cynical
Realize
[You just gotta let it go]
Nobody's perfect
You demand it
Underhanded
[You just gotta let it go]
You make us miserable
If you don't stop and
Change your thinkin'
[You just gotta let it go]

You gotta let it go
Just let it go

Always complainin'
About what you can't change
In someone else's life
You drive me insane
Things can change
Start with you
Make things stronger
If you want to

Things they happen
Life gets twisted
You will find
[You just gotta let it go]
So critical and cynical
Realize
[You just gotta let it go]
Nobody's perfect
You demand it
Underhanded
[You just gotta let it go]
You make us miserable
If you don't stop and
Change your thinkin'
[You just gotta let it go]

You gotta let it go
Just let it go

Why so busy
Meddlin' in our lives
If you back up
You might realize
We can handle it
Make our own mistakes
We don't need you
Just back away

Things they happen
Life gets twisted
You will find
[You just gotta let it go]
So critical and cynical
Realize
[You just gotta let it go]
Nobody's perfect
You demand it
Underhanded
[You just gotta let it go]
You make us miserable
If you don't stop and
Change your thinkin'
[You just gotta let it go]

You gotta let it go
Just let it go
You need to just let it go
Why can't you
Please, just let it go
You just gotta let it go
