Vocal driven "Roots" Americana with a slight twang.

Biography

After spending 17 years teaching in small town Texas, Tres Womack began to share his songwriting with the rest of Texas. What he found were thousands of "built-in" fans from...his classroom. Former students continue to be his biggest supporters showing up at shows around the state. They had no idea Womack was returning to music after a 15 year hiatus. They'd never heard about performances in Texas dancehalls during the "Urban Cowboy" heyday. Very few knew anything of his past because those dreams had been traded for a family and career in teaching. His younger brothers (Sons of the Desert) provided the guitar and soon he was fronting his own three-piece band. Womack then joined forces with the Getocowboys in 2007. In 2008 they released "Hard Luck Symphany" and still receive airlplay around the world. That same year, Womack released his debut CD "Freak Show." These days, you can find Tres Womack in Austin landmarks as Saxon Pub, Momo's, and Nutty Brown Cafe with his newest project "The Chubby Knuckle Choir".
He's currently recording his next solo project along with an EP with Chubby Knuckle. Womack was nominated for two Academy of Texas Awards in 2009, earning "Song of the Year" honors for "Gather 'round" off of Freak Show.

sunday morning

Sunday Morning

Sun ain’t rising and the darkness hangs around
Feeling lingers and my heart begins to pound
The way it does when fear takes over
And silence starts to drown
The way it does when fear takes over
And silence starts to drown

I can’t leave here, I can’t hold on to this day
Minutes pass by and time carries them away
From everything in this world
That make my dreams come true
Away From everything in this world
That make my dreams come true

So let me hold you let me hang on every word
Stories fading and the picture starts to blur
The way it does when I start spinning
And I can’t slow down
The way it does when I start to spin
And I can’t slow down

I am here now, I have stepped across the line
Hearts are broken, I can’t tell yours from mine
And someday when they sort it all out
I hope its love they find
And someday when they sort it all out
I hope its love they find

nothing left

Nothing Left

Thought I’d like new mexico
The air was sweet and the mountains know my name
But it turned out just the same

Spent a week in the dessert sand
The nights were cool and the canyons were so grand
But I’m back here again

I don’t know where to run
Where to go
How to leave this angry world behind
Get a little piece of mind
But I couldn’t get that far from here
This old heart just seems to steer itself
Back to where there’s nothing left
Back to where there’s nothing left

I’d like to go and see the stars
See if dreams really do come true
I would wish for you

If I could watch one more sunrise
Maybe live another day or two
I’d spend them both with you

black motel

Written By: tres womack

hey darlin, i know your real name
i know i want some company again

hey baby, i hope you miss me
I hope you think of us every chance you get

and i will stay in the black motel
i will stay in the black motel
i will stay in the black motel...for you

hey sugar, i miss your sweet love
i miss your sweet touch, lingering into mine

hey sweetie, i love your true heart
i want to be where you are til the end of time

and i will stay in the black motel
i will stay in the black motel
i will stay in the black motel...for you

hey darlin, i know your real name
i know i hurt you and you never will forget

hey baby, i want to show you
that you can love me now without no regrets

and i will bring you flowers
i will bring you flowers
i will bring you flowers for the pain

and i will stay in the black motel
i will stay in the black motel
i will stay in the black motel...for you
