Bio

Eighteen-year-old TreVante’ Halliburton is no stranger to the hard work demanded of him by the notoriously competitive music industry. His journey began in 2005 with a drive from Houston, TX to Atlanta, GA. Looking to take advantage of the opportunities of the thriving music industry in Atlanta, his family established Selsum Records, a family owned label, ran by his mom Tangela.

In 2006, TreVante' independently released two singles, “That Girl” and “Baby Girl” under Selsum Records which were written and produced by his father Joe “Simply” Halliburton. Soon after the release, he secured a distribution deal with FYE and embarked on a regional in-store tour of the South where he was able to build his fan base and sell over 80,000 units. “Baby Girl” reached the #1 spot on Billboards R&B/Hip Hop Singles sales chart and opened the door for performance and touring opportunities with artists such as Bow Wow, B5, and Nick Cannon.

TreVante’s performances and work ethic attracted the attention of many industry heavyweights and in 2010 TreVante‘ was signed to Imani Records. Drawing inspiration from his musical influences that include Michael Jackson, Prince, El Debarge, R. Kelly, and the Backstreet Boys, TreVante' has been able to create his own unique sound that he compares to a jukebox. “He is the total package,” says Manny Halley, President of Imani Entertainment, “not only does he sing, he is a phenomenal dancer and multi-dimensional writer.” TreVante' was able to secure a publishing contract with Imani Music Publsihing/Warner Chappell Publishing.

Having co-written many of the songs on his album, TreVante' has had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the industry’s elite producers and writers including Chris Brown, Rodney Jerkins, Diane Warren, Mischke, August, Tank, Troy Taylor and Rico Love. His first mainstream success came from the single “Be My Girl” which peaked at #3 on BET: 106 & Park and landed him on BET’s “Closer to My Dreams” Tour along with Diggy Simmons, Mindless Behavior and Tyga. The song was followed up by “Be Your First” which was written and produced by Tank, and landed him a performance on the “Wendy Williams Show” earlier this year.

TreVante‘s first official single is “Body Ody”, featuring Ca$h Out and Soulja Boy. This up-tempo club-banger is radio friendly and sure to climb the video charts. TreVante‘s debut album, tentatively titled I Am TreVante', is slated for a release in 2013 thru Imani Records, LLC.
