Bio
Trevor Bystrom & Firewater is a world music troupe, known for their multi-cultural sound, which blends many genres, including world, rock, reggae, and blues. The group's original music largely centers around current and persisting social and environmental issues. They create their danceable global grooves using many beautifully unique instruments from a range of cultures, including flute, violin, didgeridoo, mbira, ngoni, hawaiian slide guitar, djembe, and guitars tuned to non-standard tunings.
Trevor, lead guitarist, vocalist, and front man for the band, first started a career of music in 2010, at age 16, booking up solo gigs at restaurants, shops, and local festivals. His music ..... (what is your music about? and what peaked your interest in the styles/genes?) In 2012, Morgan Greig, who plays diddgeridoo, mandolin, ukelele, bongos, and djembe, joined Trevor's musical act.
The duo lasted until 2014, when The Tribal Trio formed. Trevor met Kristie Armas, another multi-instrumentalist (flute, bass, guitar) and vocalist, who was welcomed in as their bass player. Within six months, they came out with the album "Live and Direct" (a live recording of the Trio's original music). By then, the band had expanded its repertoire and fan base, playing in a variety of venues, restaurants, and festivals all over southwest Florida.
In late 2015, they met two new musicians: Sammy (a drummer and fellow percussionist) and his wife, Zooey Seraphine Warren (violinist and keyboardist). With similar musical interests and a shared respect for Mother Nature, social justice, and harmony, they became "Trevor Bystrom & Firewater." They are now currently working on a new, fully produced CD, which will be released in mid-2016.
