Biography
Trevor Andres' debut CD 'The Offering' currently in stores nationwide (distribution through CD Baby,(www.cdbaby.com) / Playindies (www.playindies.com)/tower records,(www.towerrecords.com)

The Offering delivers a sharp, original and a many faceted brand of hook-heavy, brooding melodic pop rock, which hints at a Nine Inch Nails intensity, colored melodically with Collective Soul's attitude and a John Cougar honesty. With a stunning debut charged with a wide range of emotions, this is one band to keep your eyes (and ears) on in 2009.

The band’s debut album 'The Offering', creates music that unfolds from this thoughtful collection effortlessly and mixes a timeless brand of pop with a clever foresight of alternative sensibilities and lyric stylings.

Originally hailing from Winnipeg, Trevor Andres' own musical background began at fifteen. Awe struck with such bands such as Thin Lizzy, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin, Trevor fell in love with the sounds of British pop and in 1986 was playing clubs at sixteen, until an audition for a local Hungry Eye talent agent band landed him a gig playing in Barely Legal, (later fronted by female vocalist of Vixen, Lenita Ericson) contributing to one of the busiest touring schedules of most Canadian acts at the time. This image and music conscious unit was highly in demand through 1990 until 1996.

After six years of extensive road work, Trevor went on to play with scene veterans Reg Mennell and Kevin Swan of Playground X and guitar demon Steve McGovern of Orphan, forming the band A.W.O.L.. Being mostly a cover band, A.W.O.L. did dabble in some writing and performed a few of their songs on a live radio show from Winnipeg on Friday nights from a venue called Night Moves showcasing on the local rock station 92 CITI FM. Shortly after, Steve and Trevor started collaborating on musical ideas, as Steve's writing was appearing in some Ridley Scott movies and A.W.O.L. was disbanding. In 1991 Trevor and Steve decided to form a group to tour and play original material. With additions of Roman Breuer and Arnold Umali the newly formed Voodoo Dogs recorded a complete record with sound engineer Marty Kinac(of Juno winner Susan Harmer).

Eventually deciding to go his own way, Steve left the band and was replaced by original guitar player Lou Greenburg from Barely Legal. Within the first rehearsal the band was writing again, and in 1994 released it's own six song EP debut 'Dirtier Than You', although a personal triumph sonically and musically, the band fell short financially, only able to record the six songs in hope of distribution interest. The band toured Canada opening for acts like Great White, Honeymoon Suite, The Infidels, Wild T and The Spirit, Anvil, Etc., never getting that elusive distribution deal through Island Records Germany.

In the fall of 2003 Trevor started writing another record with long time friend Steve McGovern, and although 'The Offering' is Trevor's own brainchild, he’s quick to point out that it’s a collective effort. “I had all these songs mapped out, but there’s a few people who helped that I’ve gotten pretty close with over the past couple of years, as well as some that I’ve known for up to twenty years. I’m really lucky to have the opportunity to work with such great people who also happen to be great musicians and idealists.”

Engineered by Yannis Fyssas, the results of 'The Offering’ debut mix trace elements of the British Invasion sounds, along with both melodic pop and the best of what new bands like The Stereophonics and The Wallflowers have to offer. With a wealth of beautifully composed and arranged rock songs, such as “Broken,” “Stumble” and “Black Valentine”, Trevor proves with aching vocals over haunting pop melodies, bright harmonies and intelligent lyrics, often delivered with a dark sense of longing, that Trevor Andres is capable of creating that rare thing in rock music – an album that is both immediately classic and forever timeless.

Trevor Andres’ self-titled debut was released on January 19, 2006 . The band is rehearsing for an extensive 2006 tour and is currently available for bookings.

Lyrics

Stumble

Written By: Trevor Andres

Take all you can from me
just leave me but enough to bleed
Through your haze of self contempt
you damn all hopes of innocence

And measure for measure another angel falls from heaven

Yeah we stumble yes we fall
And our eyes sometimes lose their shine
So look away from me look away
And you hide in lies hide in lies

Every word you say brings pain
your forked tongue slices like a blade
The streets are lined with dreams you've stole
you'll soon find out those dreams your own

And pound for pound another angel tumbles down

Yeah we stumble yes we fall
And our eyes sometimes lose their shine
So look away from me look away
And you hide in lies hide in lies

Broken

Written By: Trevor Andres

Twilight and bedside here I go again
Flickering shadows my only friend
Every time the wounds healed you were right there to remind me
And I die inside as this knife twists one more time

Embers and ashes are all that's left
No rising phoenix this chapter ends
Every time hear your words like a sweet and sultry seductive wine
You touch my soul while I'm dying all the while

You've left me broken
You've left me here to pick the pieces up for
The broken prides the broken strides
And all the broken you've maligned
I'm broken
You've left me broken

Shadow boxer when will it end
You're only fighting yourself and you can't win
I tried to understand but your strange ways they just drove me mad
So I lie awake at night and wonder why

You've left me broken
You've left me here to pick the pieces up for
The broken prides the broken strides
And all the broken you've maligned
I'm broken
You've left me broken

You know you left me high and dry
and I don't think that I make it alone
I feel that empty hole inside
Knowing your the one who made it
I'm bleeding here yes I'm bleeding here
And I'll bleed until I am done
it's getting tougher and tougher and tougher girl
I don't think I can make it
no no no no no no no no

Twilight and bedside here I go again
Shadow Dancer you're my only Friend
Every time the wounds healed you were right there to remind me
And I die inside as this knife twists one more time

You've left me broken
You've left me here to pick the pieces up for
The broken prides the broken strides
And all the broken you've maligned
I'm broken
You've left me broken

Broken are the broken are the broken
Broken are the broken are the broken
Broken are the broken are the broken
Broken are the broken are the broken

Paradise

Written By: Trevor Andres

There was a man who lived inside me
but he got lost in babylon
Now he lives at a subway station
waiting for a train that won't come

He's close to God down on Main street
trying to hold his head high
he shuffles his feet through the garbage
people walk on by

Big dreams here in Paradise
anything you want don't think twice
Lot's of vacancy here in Paradise

There was a man who had it all
but he traded in his new Cadillac
The house cards fell with that indiscretion
and he never looked back

Now he stands in line for his slice of pride
and it males him feel good for awhile
but when the night comes to Babylon
you know the bed he's made is gone

Chorus
Repeat first verse

Black Valentine

Written By: Trevor Andres

Time heals all wounds but I'm still hurting
The dreams that you left me are now shattered
The pictures that you painted are slowing fading
And in this world of pain you've left me waiting

I don't want your kind of love no more
I don't want to be your lover
Cold and lonely no
You taught me how to hate
And then you threw love in my face
I don't want your kind of love no more
No more

The only voice I hear is far from reason
My eyes are now closed to my soul
Your venomous words are now slowly chocking
And all you can say is do you love me
Now say you love me

I don't want your kind of love no more
I don't want to be your lover
Cold and lonely no
You taught me how to hate
And then you threw love in my face
I don't want your kind of love no more
No more

You're my black valentine
Everything you touch now slowly dies
You're my black valentine

I don't want your kind of love no more
I don't want to be your lover
Cold and lonely no
You taught me how to hate
And then you threw love in my face
I don't want your kind of love no more
No more

You Let Me Die Inside

Written By: Trevor Andres

I'm feeling six feet under
I've got my name in stone
I'm buried by dried flowers I'm lying here alone

I'm feeling blacker than black
I'm feeling colder than cold
and death becomes my
Lonely soul

You let me die inside
You let me die inside

I'm wrought by pain
But what I feel for you is worse
You stripped my pride you crushed my life
You know that it still burns

I'm filled with anger and pain
And I'm blind with rage
you left me here you've left me here
In this earthen hearse

You let me die inside
You let me die inside
Yes I'm crucified
Yes I'm crucified
You let me die inside
You let me die inside

Push me pull me taunt me and tease me
Beat me rape me burn me or please me
I don't wanna I don't need to
But I do....

You let me die inside
You let me die inside
Yes I'm crucified
Yes I'm crucified
You let me die inside
You let me die inside

SuperHero

Written By: Trevor Andres

Woke up to rain and winter skies
I never thought i'd feel so alone
The cold air chills me and the rain goes right on through me
Makes me wonder Makes me wonder why

I never tried to be your anything
I never apologized for my mistakes

I don't want to be your super hero
And I just can't be your superman
It ain't pretty it ain't nothing at all
It's just some words in a song in a song

This empty room is still filled with pain
But that's the way that it's always been
Unanswered echoes ringing in my ears sound hallow
And life comes crashing trough life comes crashing through

I never tried to be your anything
I never apologized for my mistakes

I don't want to be your super hero
And I just can't be your superman
It ain't pretty it ain't nothing at all
It's just some words in a song in a song

Discography

Also recorded is a 6 song EP of the band Barely Legal called "Dirtier Than You" released in 1994

Set List

We usually play 10 songs off the CD but have a few new songs that we are going to incorporate into our repertoire. Our set is approximately 45-50 Minutes long. We usually don't do covers but sometimes it's just fun to just toss one in there for kicks. If we were to cover something it would probably be a Brithish pop rock band of some sort.
