Trey Day's Biography

Trying to put a label on Trey Day ain't the easiest thing in the world. If you called him a rapper, you’d be right and if you called him a engineer, you would be even more accurate, but then you have to add producer, promoter, entreuperuner and studio owner. He is also CEO of Low-Key Enterprises which offers Studio, production, duplication, and print services. He is also one half of the Production team Da Professionalz. The only way to describe Trey Day is a visionary whose unique lyrical talents, enviable engineering and producing skills make him a person who is constantly sought after when it comes to making creative projects a success. At a very young age, Trey Day stamped his indelible imprint on the music scene, by writing poetry and participating in gospel rap with a local Milwaukee gospel group. As an avid writer, he transitioned from writing short stories to making beats and producing hit singles.
In 2004, Trey Day joined the United States Marine Corps and by 2005, he found it necessary to expand his production repertoire to incorporate his musical upbringing, Releasing his 1st album titled "Day of Reckoning" in 2006 under Low-Key Productions.
What inspired Trey Day to write Day of Reckoning was the looming fact that we would be soon going to Iraq. He released Day of Reckoning and sold 700 copies hand-to-hand in IRAQ! Now DAT'S HUSTLING.
Trey Day's 5 year stint in the Marines, He decided to go to the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences for Audio Engineering in mesa, AZ in 2009. This was to gain more knowledge of the recording and mixing process so he could take a DYI approach to his music but to also to gain a SKILL in music.
In late 2009, Trey Day then traveled to Chicago to intern at Pressure Point Studios, one of the most prestigious studios in the midwest. He learned how to mix by some of the BEST engineers and soon started his on home studio on the east side of Chicago. At the time, Trey Day was putting his artistry on the back burner to focus on engineering. He has worked with over 200 chicago artists and producers all over and chicago such as Co-Still, Xcel, Pheave, Looch, Baby face Nelson, just to name a few. trey Day also released and hosted 2 mixtapes in Chicago entitled, "The Starter Kit" and "2218 E: Trading Shots".
Even while Trey Day was making moves with the engineering, in a series of misfortunate events, back-stabbings, and life lessons, Trey Day decided it was time to apply all his talent and the skills he developed over the years to himself.
In 2011, Trey Day moved back to his hometown, Milwaukee, WI, where he currently is. Trey Day has developed a formula to keep his image, name, and most importantly GOOD music in the streets starting with Milwaukee and branching off to the world. His latest EP, The Good Die Young, released September 2012, is getting RAVING reviews and his Single, "Sunny Dayz" is hitting the streets upside the head.
Trey Day’s trademark sound has spawned numerous imitators—yet he has always remained the acknowledged originator. He takes pride in his success at staying ahead of the curve with his originality and experimentation. As he continues to celebrate milestones in his career, he continues to push the boundaries of genre definition and hopes to inspire the next generation of Hip-Hop prodigies.
