"Dalai Lama, didgeridoo...and Tribali?"

“Tribali is a group of Maltese musicians who came together to celebrate their love of world music”…. a pretty worn out phrase used to describe this local unique band. I’d replace the word ‘love’ with passion because that’s what I felt their music conveyed after listening to their self-titled debut album, which was released on the 28th May, during a concert at Hagar Qim Temples. - MaltaStar.com

"Tribali will soon become the first-ever-all-Maltese band to perform at Glastonbury Festival"

Tribali have been moving in leaps and bounds over the past couple of years. Their brand of ethnic music is significantly different from the likes of other local like-minded bands. Their music fuses local and various foreign idioms and as such, this quintet was also bold enough to try its hands on instruments that can be quite complex to handle, like the sitar and didgeridoo. - Times of Malta

Bio

Whilst placing great emphasis on ethnic rhythms, Tribali incorporate the beauty and pathos of music from the orient. Their diverse use of instruments embraces percussion, flute, guitar and sitar to name a few, whilst the accompanying vocals complete the whole sonic vibe. A powerful stage presence is further energized by their use of visuals thus dramatically stimulating the audience.

Releasing their debut album in May 2006, they secured their position as one of Malta`s leading artists by charting and sustaining the number one sales charts position for several months. Consistently selling out shows, the band has also performed at major festivals such as Glastonbury ,the East Coast Bluesfest in Australia, as well as being instrumental for the 3rd year running Earth Garden Festival.

Tribali’s past works were also featured on Petrol Records, World Music network, The rough guide to Indian Lounge, Songlines, CNN, BBC, SBS, Gondwana Sound, Maramundi and many more.Their second album’ The Elephants of Lanka’ launched 22nd May 2009 is selling fast and currently receiving great reviews from all around the globe.
