Bio
The Triboro Trio is an acoustic group comprising of cello, guitar, and bass. Featuring Mike Block, Hans Holzen, and Kyle Kegerreis, the members of the Triboro Trio met while teaching at Mark OConnors famed String Camp in 2006. Since then, they have performed across the U.S. and established a sold-out residency of shows in the West Village of New York City. They are frequently joined by special guests, most often by the grammy-nominated fiddler, Darol Anger.
With a mission of putting their personal spin on traditional and contemporary music from all around the world, the Triboro Trio mixes and matches styles ranging from American Roots, Classical, Pop, Jazz, Latin, Blues, Klezmer, Scandinavian, Rock, Chinese, Arabic, Celtic, and Gypsy. They also draw upon their individual backgrounds rooted strongly in Classical, Country, and Jazz to reinvent their various influences with unusually well-crafted and creative arrangements, and feature a cello as the lead instrument for the first time ever in many of these genres.
They recorded their first album in January of 2010, called Naive Melody.
