"Tricia Woodgett "One Chance to Life" featuring K-Key"

Tricia Woodgett has known for most of her life that she wanted to sing. After winning a talent show at only 5 years old, she decided that she would pursue a career in the music industry. But after a few setbacks, Woodgett put music on hold and pursued a professional business career. However, her talent and passion would not let her escape her musical roots. The gifted songstress, featured in the current issue of AMN Magazine, released the passionate "One Chance to Life" featuring lyricist K-Key. Tricia said of the song, "It's a reminder that we all have only one chance to do what we were put here to do in this life. For me; that's music." - Amethyst Music News

"Dallas again delivers-Tricia Woodgett"

So now I am sure it is official. Great R&B, Neo Soul and whatever other title you want to call really good soulful music is flowing out of Dallas/Fort Worth. Not long ago I discovered the music of Freddy Sans and just today I am thrilled to have found the work of Tricia Woodgett.

I love artists that are all heart and that aren't given to pandering to the masses. Ms. Woodgett has a recognizable sound, but isn't playing into the hands of current trends. What you hear sounds so real and heartfelt that it has the potential to fill the cracks that might be upon your heart.

Listen to her song "No Rush" as proof.

Bio

Raised in Dallas, Texas, this sultry talent, with a 5-octave range, was born in a small town in Alabama. As a child, Tricia knew one thing for sure; she wanted to sing! Not only did she want to sing, but she vowed to sing with a purpose behind every breath, guiding the notes and words that graced her lips to ride the waves of listening ears. As a young vocal prodigy, Tricias household was filled with the soulful sounds of an array of artists such as Minnie Ripperton, Stevie Wonder, Patti LaBelle, Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Luther Vandross, Sam Cooke, Donny Hathaway, Sade, and more. Tricias musical influences challenged and stretched her vocal abilities, preparing her to display versatility and range, ensuring she would never exist in one musical box or category. At the early age of 5, Tricias mother entered her into the first of many talent shows where she sang Reunited by the 70s R&B duo Peaches and Herb. Not only did she win the competition, but this 5 year old superstar left the audience captivated!

As a teenager, Tricia perused her quest to stardom. While singing with several girl groups throughout the remainder of her teenage years, she dealt with many disappointments of potential possibilities that never panned out for her. After several years of pursuing her dream, Tricia disappointedly shifted her goals; went to college, entered the world of corporate America, and started a family.

Although she was successful in her career, she was never happy living the American dream as the love and desire to sing and entertain audiences sat dormant in her soul. While working on a gospel stage play that she co-wrote and produced, Tricia was encouraged to sing and carry the tunes for one of the actors. Once again, she received rave reviews for her 5-octave range, vocal style and abilities. As her dormant talent resurrected inside of her, Tricia was encouraged to get back out there and try it again! Thus, she teamed up with some magnificent individuals who believed in her and her abilities and her limits far exceeded the skies.

Tricia's focus is to share her sultry sound with the world! In her eyes, its giving back because music is food for the soul. Through her passion, sound, and lyrics, she uses her soul as a blessing to heal, feed, and inspire others to move through life; living everyday better than yesterday with continued love and light.

Tricia performed as a featured artist on the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage 2012 Cruise, where she once again proved that music is her destiny.
