"Trick Sensei is one of Portland's most underrated pop bands. Some songs stretch out on the psychedelic frontier, and some are catchy, sweet, bedroom pop numbers." (Aaron Miles) - Portland State University Daily Vanguard

Trick Sensei evokes a certain ponderous solitude, with plucky vs. washy guitars, homemade theremin, and tasty sound bites gurging throughout the quirky yet earnets lyrics... this is original Oregon rock at its finest. - frequency of evil

Bio
Strong songwriting, thoughtful lyrics, slowly built, reverb-soaked soundscapes, blasts of noise, and three-minute pop gems. For now, Cascadia is only a state of mind. Trick Sensei is an indie-rock band from Oregon determined to help you get there.
2007 was a busy year for Trick Sensei. There were a bunch of shows around the Northwest following release of Summer Sessions: notes from a free Cascadia. The band is currently in the studio working on the follow up to Summer Sessions, and plans for a busy summer playing out.
Guitarist/ vocalists Jeremy Gordon and Andres Caputo have been writing music together for nearly a decade. Aaron Hutzler (drums) and Gerald del Campo (bass) complete the Trick Sensei sound.
The band spent much of 2006 creating Summer Sessions: Notes from a free Cascadia at 5-on-2 recording. The record was mixed by Robert Bartleson (Wilco, Desert City Soundtrack) at Haywire Recording Studio in Portland, mastered at Nettleingham audio, and release January 31st, 2007. Full of the elements that distinguish Trick Sensei, the band has crafted a CD full of passion, energy, and beauty.
Founding member Josh Boyd AKA smooth white chocolate (theremin, loops) joins the band for three songs on the new album. Boyd materializes on occasion to join the band in a live setting.
