Tricky aka Nicthaquik

THE FACTS
Born in East Palo Alto CA, raised in Oaklahoma and returning to the Bay as a teenager Tricky AKA Nicthaquik has always had a love of music especially that classic Bay Area sound. His music career began making music with his friend Ian creating "INDO Productions" and later forming the group "OUTTA CONTORL SOULJA'Z" who was very popular at their highschool and in the neighboring community in Vallejo CA. After high school ended the group went their separate ways.
Tricky A.K.A Nicthaquik finally settling in San Francisco's Fillmore District, graduating Barber College and became a Barber although successful the passion for music was prevalent. Deciding to re-enter the music scene Tricky A.K.A Nicthaquik created "Trunkmuzik Entertainment" based on the fact that most people listen to music in their cars and his beats deliver those trunk rattling sounds.
"Trunkmuzik Entertainment" is truly an independent label with TrickyA.K.A Nicthaquik serving as the President/CEO, the writer,the artist,live performer, the producer, the engineer, etc. He debuted his first single "Blow, Ball, Thizz" on Myspace on May 21, 2007, creating the start to his world wide audience. As the singles kept coming his Myspace success grew. Trunkmuzik Entertainment released its first album on Itunes,June 15, 2008 entitled "Trunkmuzik Entertainment presents Trunkmuzik featuring Tricky AKA Nicthaquik" his first album was very impressive and featured producer collaborations with artist from Germany and France. With music plays and fan base still steadily growing Tricky AKA Nicthaquik was able to meet his longtime mentor Studio Ton and also had his first on air interview with the Foundation Rap Show in Croatia Europe.
Motivated to continue on and established himself in the music industry as soon as his 1st album was released on Itunes he began work on his sophmore album dropping this summer entitled "Billz, Habitz, and Fetishez" When asked about this title you will get the response "Everbody has bills, everybody has habits, and everbody has fetishes." This album includes his first collaboration with a major label artist Bay Area Rap legend B-Legit.
Not wanting to be labeled as the common underground independent artist Tricky AKA Nicthaquik created the hit single "Round An Round"hip hop with the rock and roll sounds of the likes of Nirvana. This song is instantly liked by those who hear it because it has a different sound. With the release of his second album coming this summer he has begun working on his third album continuing to never be put in a box. If you ask the artist to describe his sound you will get the response " I got that Bay Area classic sound mixed with soul, rock, hip hop, and R&B and a little pop. As Tricky AKA Nicthaquik continues to be heard by the masses he remains loyal to his fanbase and dedicated to bringing you great Trunkmuzik.
MY LOVE OF MUSIC
As far back as I can remember music has always been apart of my life. Listening to my popz playing them old B.B King 8-Tracks and listening to my mother play those old Eartwind and Fire records...LOL I remember as a child I couldn't wait till Showtime at the Apollo would come on. I used to love to watch the Arsenio Hall Show and Star Search. I watch Makin the Band and American Idol. Basically what I am saying is ya boi is deeply in love with music.
The Joy of being able to create music is a whole other story. I am influenced by anything dealing with sound and recording, Live instruments send chills through my body. I am facinated by music it's my life.
I didn't gradate from high school but I can say History and English were my best subjects and because I am a Gemini I can write amazing stories. I just hope you read in between the lines and really listen to what I rap about because there is always a message in my songs.
My musical influences are Studio Ton, Dr. Dre, E-40,B-Legit, Mac Dre, C-Bo, Ice Cube, and Scarface just to name a few. I hope you, you, and you will enjoy the combination of my influences wrapped up in one artist.....Myself. As for my future I feel like I am making mini power moves toward my goals, there are still a few mountains to climb before I make it but keep watchin. Peace and Blessingz to you from yours truly
