Bio
Trilce is traditional Brazilian, Portuguese and Latin music with a eclectic sensibility.
With Trilce, Bebé continues the journey she began with the Richmond band Sambaiosis, stretching the boundaries of baião, bossa, and fado music, and making it her own. Her accomplices in this endeavor are Justin Smith (guitar) and Jacob Moore (guitar, 12 string and violin).
Justin Smith is currently completing a Jazz Performance degree at VCU. He has been performing jazz for private corporate events for about 6 years and was the band leader at Blue Point Fish Club restaurant in Short Pump, VA.
Jacob Moore studied Jazz guitar with Mike Ess and classical guitar with David Toussaint at VCU from 99 to 2003. He currently performs with the American roots music group Smokehouse and appeared at the Cape May singer/songwriter festival in March with the Steve Lyons band. He contributed guitar and violin on the Marionette EP "You are Here," and has been playing jazz in solo, duo, and ensemble settings in the Richmond, and more recently, Philadelphia, PA areas since 2000.
Incorporating Jacob's musical multi-functionality with Justin's impeccable sense of voicing and phrasing and Bebé's intensely felt vocals, Trilce's ability to capture their audience and hold the connection is real and undeniable.
