"TRILLWAVE"

The other day I was sitting around blazing with a bunch of my friends who are about 10 years younger than me. I was talking to one of the girls about how I feel “too old for trap music.” Mostly because I don’t understand what it is.

I’ve finally figured it out though and here is some trap music for all of us to enjoy!

From the depths of the traphaus TRILLWAVE has cooked up www.trapgodz.com EP, their 3rd release in the last year. It opens with one of the most recognizable tracks of the 90's, ”What Is Love” by Haddaway. The redux of this dance floor classic takes you start to finish through a mix of original samples and three different drops, each one building in darkness and intensity. The “Believe” by Cher redux is a big room traphaus banger keeping fans of deep vibes exclusively in mind. The EP ends on a redux of “Good Vibrations” by Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch, using the original Loretta Holloway sample from “Love Sensation” the duo cuts Marky Mark out returning it to its former waviness. This music is only for three things – counting bands, selling grams, and driving Lambs. - stonergirlsguide

"[TRAP/BASS/TWERK #32 - Part 1] Major Lazer, DJ Unk, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Lil Flip, Sisqo, K Theory, MartyParty & More!"

As is tradition, let's start episode #32 with Part 1, the Hip Hop / Gangsta influenced Trap music, and then drop Part 2 with all the newest Trapstyle / Festival Trap bangers! All your favorite rappers are featured in this one; Lil Flip, DJ UNK, Sisqo (rapper?), Jay-Z, Pharaoh Monk, Rich Homie Quan and that guy that sings "Money in da bank", can't remember his name but who gives a fvck? Enough sarcasm, yes I was being sarcastic, if these guys are your favorite rappers please leave this page now and never come back. The 17 free songs I have for you today might not have the deepest, most conscious lyrics but they can make anyone throw dem bows up and get jiggy with it! Bottom line, download this music and throw it on your music player or a CD if you still live in the 90's. If you are a DJ, you will definitely surprise a few heads with some of these tunes! You're welcome! - electrokill.com

"The Trap Dojo #41"

We’re kicking off this weeks Trap Dojo in a hard way with the newest track from trap music prodigy Alex Young, an original titled “Mastermind”. Don’t let the emotional electro build-up fool you, when this one drops, nothing will stop you from banging your head and attempting to shuffle, no matter where you are. Vinnie Maniscalco puts a fresh spin on an old favorite this week, remixing The Champs classic tune “Tequila”. With heavy bass and clever drum work, he flips the familiar sax tune on its head. Ookay and Pyramid Juke come together for a huge collaboration with this minimal track “Yen”, hope you have your subs turned up for this one. The name Aylen should be a familiar sight to you ninjas, so you know when he remixes Porter Robinson the result is going to be massive, complex trap banger. Both ETC!ETC! and CRNKN bring us two very different remixes of Tokimonsta. ETC!ETC! pulls some huge 808s and snares over some lyrics by Kool Keith, while CRNKN chills it out a bit. TRILLWAVE remixes “Good Vibrations” by Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch on their nostalgic EP www.trapgodz.com which also includes a remix of “What is Love” and “Believe” by Cher. Theres plenty more heaters for you to discover in this weeks dojo, so be sure to check them out. - Themusicninja.com

"Thug Lazer – Trillwave [Exclusive Premiere]"

In the last few weeks, we have received a great deal of music from up and comers thats made its way directly onto the site. I’m starting to believe that during the cold winter months artists took to staying indoors in order to work on their music game. We, being the avid listeners, are now reaping the fruits of their labor as new music is being released and shared at an overwhelming rate. Trillwave are on the come up here in Chicago after releasing some damn good tracks that dabble in the trap and bass genre. Now the duo are set to deliver a brand new EP titled “TrapGodz Vol. II and allowed us to premier a heater called “Thug Lazer” today. Trillwave twerked the hell out of this track, using a voice sample that will amp up anyone’s energy upon first listen. Take a listen and be sure to check them out this Friday at Sound-Bar as they start The Pyrex Pilgramoge Tour! - Bryan Reid - TheDankles.com

"TRILLWAVE | SXSW 2013 RECAP"

TRILLWAVE is a talented young production duo from here in Chicago, playing some cold hip hop/trap inspired EDM. They were out in Austin for South by Southwest last month and documented the journey of all their recklessness. We had the pleasure of working with them when they played the Project TURNT mansion pool party that week with MyDopeLink.com & EndsWealthCorp (footage from that starts around 3:57). Definitely one of my favorite sets I saw there.

Wake the Hood Up is a new one off their TrapGodz EP vol. 2 which drops soon, and you can bump that below. Catch them at SoundBar in Chicago this Friday as they send off on the Pyrex Pilgramage Tour! Details after jump… - This_is_stos

Bio

The duo of Michael Cutrone (Twerkle) and Brooks Jones (TrapLee Jones) has been making music together since April 20th of 2012 but it's neither ones first foray into music production. Brought up on hip-hop, R&B, jazz, and psychedelic rock, the two seamlessly combine all these influences into one fast paced high energy set heavily laced with original production. TRILLWAVE has had several releases since their inception, the most well known being the TRAPGODZ series. The 3rd installment is set for release in late fall.

The turn up atmosphere they cultivate is unparalleled. After their debut show at SXSW the duo went from relatively unknown to one of Chicagos fastest rising dance acts. After having played only five shows in Chicago they landed a monthly residency headlining one of Chicagos premier clubs, Sound-Bar. In addition to crushing their hometown TRILLWAVE has also embarked on two tours as well as one off shows all across the country. Playing at venues such as Webster Hall in NYC to MJQ in Atlanta they have shared the stage with Heroes X Villains, Styles & Complete , DJ Sliink, FKi, Stooki Sound, TWO9, Brillz, Document One, Crizzly, Figure, Helicopter Showdown, Mantis, Reid Speed, and more. Its become painfully clear that they got next.

After their next release the two are set to lock themselves away in the lab until spring, crafting their first album release set for Summer 2014. Until then you can catch them at their monthly residency at SoundBar or exclusive one off shows across the US where they will be playing their newest releases as well as some unreleased gems. With an ever evolving multi genre set, its safe to assume that each show will be unique and as turnt as the duo themselves. And beware, the Djenocide is coming.
