"TRILYON: "Epic" album a sure BUY!"

Posted on www.battlemouth.com on June 14th, 2005

What it do peoples, its Alimoe back with a cat from the dirty, Atlanta, Georgia. Trilyon, born in Philly, is not new to the game of Hip Hop. Once signed to MCA and given a so called “Major Exposure” opportunity, Tril found himself on the bench like many upcoming talents. According to his manager Tril quickly discovered the political machine of major record labels and with his album unfinished and unreleased he was cut from the roster and shut out the building.

Through that experience Tril, his manager Zeek, and producer KingPenn joined forces to start an independent label, Ownership Records. Now he is able to express himself as he wants, “ownership, own your shit,” a dig at the industry that ties the hands of its artists. Trilyon has several tour dates scheduled for June across the west.

Album:
The album starts off strong but after about seven tracks it seemed that it was going to fizzle out. BUT that didn’t last long, because the end of this album will resonate in your mind for months!

Recommend Status:
"Buy!"

Highlighted Tracks:
Track 2 – “Smoke”: This track sums up the hustle of Trilyon. On this track Tril explains how no matter what the industry does, no matter how hard it gets, there is nothing that can stop Trilyon’s drive to live his dream! He attacks the industry for there talk of “Big Money Allowances” and “The Bull Shit Has to go!”
Track 6 – “Shout At The Devil”: What happens when you call out the industry? You step up your game and spit in its face. When the industry puts you down, puts on untalented cats in front of you, all you can do is “shout out the devil.”
Track 15 – “Take It Easy”: This track is a banger! Your body jumps the beat and you can’t stop it! If that wasn’t enough, the track makes you look at yourself and say “there are times I need to just calm down and ‘Take it Easy.”
Track 17 – “EPIC”: Banger Part 2, Extended! What drive does to bring a cat out the gutter and what a loyal team can do bring a cat up! The beat on this track will make you listen to it over and over trying to figure out how deep it is.

Special Thanks to Zeek for getting me the album.
