Trinidad Trading Post

BandRockBlues

Trinidad Trading Post's influences stretch across nearly the entire range of music. Classic rock and blues musicians take up a significant portion of their influences yet alternative, industrial and modern music all play heavily into the members’ musical tastes.

Biography

Trinidad Trading Post began when Sean combed local listings to find the other members: Andrew, Doug, and Steve. With all of their powers combined they refined an independent, blues/rock sound which dabbles in both progressive and popular styles.

Sean is from Seattle and has played in previous local projects. He has been playing and writing music for more than a decade; all of Trinidad Trading Post’s songs were principally written by him. His influences include Queens of the Stone Age, Pink Floyd, the Beatles, and Sublime.

Steve, the second Seattleite, has been honing his extraordinary bass talents through years of dedicated practice. He began a relationship with music at the age of eight in the Northwest Choirs and developed an in-depth knowledge of music theory. A lover of nearly every genre of music from Swing to Hip-Hop, his influences encompass bands like The Beach Boys, Rush, Eagles, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Little River Band.

Everbody Wants Her Love

Written By: Sean Thompson

There’s a girl in this town
the most beautiful of any around.
She’s both sweet and therefore tough.
The people just could not get enough.

She’s a goddess in her own right
and never has to ask nice,
but because she does…

everybody wants her love. (x4)

People take their pictures
but she’ll never miss a beat.
And she’ll kick you in the mouth
if you try to kiss her feet.

She’s the sweetest I can’t lie
the most loved that you could find,
but so lonely cause…

everybody wants her love. (x4)

She’s a goddess in her own right
and never has to ask nice,
but because she does…

everybody wants her love. (x4)

Actions

Written By: Sean Thompson

I get no pleasure from seeing you this way.
I get no kind of joy.
If you had made a plan and thought before you act,
we would no be like this.
We could still achieve the standards god and nature
could never deploy.
For this mad cycle will self-perpetuate
and we will sink in the hole.

We have got to break away from these
lies that serve just to delay reaching
the design that holds the key. Know well
what brings prosperity.

The people I know they don’t act they just moan.
To them the words are heavier than acts alone.
I don’t think they see how it changes everything we do.
It’s a shame we can’t seem to follow through.

Use thought every day in every circumstance
separate emotion.
Actions speak louder so pay attention to
your effect on the world.
All of your choices will ripple into time
pushing things to motion,
rolling to people you see everyday
and the ones that you don’t.

We have got to break away from these
lies that serve just to delay reaching
the design that holds the key. Know well
what brings prosperity.
