Bio
"Trio Corrente is the happy meeting of three musicians who think and feel the same way about music, and expect the same things from it.
We were brought together by our musical references and recollections: in each note played we tacitly agree about the inimitable swing of Cesar Camargo Mariano, Luizão Maia and Paulo Braga when accompanying Elis Regina in the late 70s, or even about the unfathomable mysteries produced by Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter and Tony Williams in the Miles Davis Quintet of the late 60s.
Maybe we are aiming to join seemingly contradictory worlds: on one hand, the synthesis and conciseness of Brazilian songs, and on the other, the compelling prolixity of jazz and choro. The quest for the symmetrical and perfect beauty of the melodies and harmonies created by Jobim, along with the freedom and experimentalism of Hermeto and Coltrane.
The music we are presenting here couldnt be more sincere: it represents our deep respect for the past and the desire for freedom and creativity."
We hope you enjoy it.
