Their latest album, “Pés no Brasil, Cabeça no Mundo” (2009), displays their musical language behind the tunes
known, through arrangements of great Brazilian composers such as Tom Jobim, Cartola, Ary Barroso and Luiz
Gonzaga, resulting in the wonderful work that earned Latin Grammy nomination.

Biography

In 1996, a happy meeting of ideals and affinities joined three fantastic composers and multi-instrumentalists together. From this union, Trio Curupira was born. It is formed by André Marques (piano), Cleber Almeida (drums) and Fabio Gouvea (bass). Currently the trio is one of the most creative in the instrumental genre.
The Trio Curupira extrapolates the traditional training of bass, piano and drums, as it presents new sounds and possibilities by introducing instruments such as flutes, fife, viola, melodica, cavaquinho (ukulele), fiddle, electric guitar, guitar and percussion instruments.
The excellence of the work has been confirmed with the several awards nominations as the Latin Grammy awards.
